About the Course

Course Name

Disaster Emergency Response (DER)

Overview

This course aims to equip participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively respond to disaster emergencies. The course will cover a range of topics, including:

Ø  Disaster risk assessment and mitigation strategies

Ø  Incident command systems and emergency operations planning

Ø  Search and rescue techniques

Ø  Evacuation procedures and shelter management

Ø  Coordination with local and international humanitarian agencies

The Method

The course will be delivered through a combination of theoretical lectures, and interactive sessions. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from experienced foreign experts who will attend the sessions virtually. The mode of teaching will be physical, allowing for hands-on learning and collaboration among the participants.

Skills and qualifications

Expected Outcomes

Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:

  • ·         Identify and assess disaster risks in their respective communities
  • ·         Develop and implement effective emergency response plans
  • ·         Coordinate and collaborate with relevant stakeholders during disaster events
  • ·         Effectively lead search and rescue operations and manage evacuation efforts
