Title: Human Resources Associate
Contract Duration: 1 year with possible extension
Location: Mogadishu

Role Purpose
The Human Resource Associate oversees various HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training, HR administration, and employee engagement initiatives. They collaborate with department heads, ensure compliance with company policies, and foster a positive work environment to support the organization's goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment and Onboarding:
• Collaborate with department heads to assess staffing needs and devise recruitment strategies.
• Source, screen, and interview candidates, ensuring they align with our company's culture and job requirements.
• Facilitate the onboarding process, including orientation sessions and ensuring compliance with company policies.
Performance Management and Employee Retention:
• Serve as a primary contact for employee inquiries, grievances, and conflict resolution.
• Cultivate a positive work environment through effective communication and conflict resolution.
• Address employee concerns promptly, adhering to company policies and best practices.
• Implement performance management systems to evaluate employee performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Conduct performance reviews and develop performance improvement plans as needed.
• Recognize and reward exceptional performance through employee recognition programs.
• Conduct exit interviews to gather feedback and identify opportunities for improvement in retention strategies.
Training and Development:
• Identify training needs and develop training programs to enhance employee skills and competencies.
• Coordinate training sessions on topics such as safety, compliance, and leadership development.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives and make recommendations for improvement.
• Develop and implement employee engagement initiatives, such as team-building activities and wellness programs.
HR Administration:
• Maintain accurate employee records, including personnel files and performance evaluations.
• Process payroll, benefits administration, and other HR-related transactions accurately and promptly.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and company policies.
Skills and qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• Previous 6+ years of experience in HR roles, preferably in the construction or related industry.
• Strong understanding of HR policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency in HRIS and MS Office applications.
