1. Background
Baano Healthcare Technology is a leading healthcare innovation company based in Mogadishu, Somalia, dedicated to revolutionizing healthcare delivery across Somalia. Through cutting-edge technology, Baano aims to provide accessible, affordable, and quality healthcare services, improving outcomes and efficiency for individuals, communities, and enterprises. Our services include online doctor consultations, hospital booking, self-management tools, international doctor consultations for second opinions, and enterprise screening packages. As we continue to expand our reach and impact, we seek a dynamic and experienced Senior Marketing Officer to lead our marketing efforts and strengthen our brand presence in the market.
2. Purpose of the Position
The Senior Marketing Officer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive marketing strategies and campaigns that align with Baano Healthcare Technology's mission and vision. This role is crucial for enhancing brand visibility, driving customer acquisition, and fostering strong relationships with stakeholders. The incumbent will play a key role in promoting our innovative healthcare technology solutions and ensuring our message resonates effectively with our target audience.
3. Key Responsibilities and Duties
The Senior Marketing Officer will undertake the following responsibilities:
3.1. Strategic Marketing and Planning:
● Develop and execute a robust marketing strategy aligned with the company's business objectives and growth targets.
● Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, competitive landscapes, and new market opportunities within the healthcare technology sector in Somalia and across Africa.
● Formulate annual marketing plans, including budget allocation, resource planning, and performance metrics.
● Contribute to the overall strategic planning of the company by providing insights on market dynamics and consumer behavior.
3.2. Digital Marketing Management:
● Lead and manage all digital marketing channels, including but not limited to social media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.), search engine optimization (SEO), search engine marketing (SEM), email marketing, and content marketing.
● Develop engaging and informative content for various digital platforms, including website articles, blog posts, social media updates, press releases, and marketing collateral.
● Oversee the design and content of the company website, ensuring it is user-friendly, up-to-date, and optimized for lead generation.
● Implement and manage online advertising campaigns (e.g., Google Ads, social media ads) to maximize reach and conversion rates.
● Utilize web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) to monitor website traffic, user engagement, and campaign performance, providing actionable insights for continuous improvement.
3.3. Brand Management and Communication:
● Ensure consistent brand messaging and visual identity across all marketing materials and communication channels.
● Develop and manage public relations initiatives to enhance the company's reputation and media presence.
● Organize and participate in industry events, conferences, and workshops to promote Baano Healthcare Technology and network with key stakeholders.
● Prepare compelling presentations and reports for internal and external audiences.
● Manage relationships with external agencies, vendors, and media partners to ensure effective collaboration and delivery of marketing objectives.
3.4. Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
● Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for all marketing activities and regularly track progress against these metrics.
● Prepare comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual marketing performance reports, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations for future strategies.
● Conduct A/B testing and other optimization techniques to improve campaign effectiveness and ROI.
● Present marketing insights and recommendations to senior management and other relevant departments.
3.5. Cross-functional Collaboration:
● Work closely with the product development team to understand new service offerings and effectively communicate their value proposition to the market.
● Collaborate with the sales team to develop marketing materials and campaigns that support sales objectives and lead generation efforts.
● Liaise with the customer service team to gather customer feedback and insights, which can inform marketing strategies and product improvements.
● Foster a collaborative environment within the marketing team and across other departments.
Skills and qualifications
3. Qualifications and Experience
4.1. Education:
● Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, Public Relations, or a closely related field from a recognized university.
● A Master's degree in a relevant field is an added advantage.
4.2. Experience:
● Minimum of five (5) years of progressive professional experience in marketing, with at least two (2) years in a senior or leadership role.
● Demonstrated experience in developing and executing successful marketing strategies, particularly in digital marketing.
● Previous experience in the healthcare, technology, or a related industry is highly desirable.
● Proven track record of managing marketing budgets and achieving measurable results.
4.3. Skills and Competencies:
● Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop long-term marketing plans and align them with business goals.
● Digital Marketing Expertise: In-depth knowledge of SEO, SEM, social media marketing, email marketing, content marketing, and web analytics.
● Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages for diverse audiences.
● Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze market data, interpret trends, and make data-driven decisions.
● Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality results.
● Creativity and Innovation: Capacity to generate new ideas and approaches to marketing challenges.
● Interpersonal Skills: Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
● Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing market conditions.
● Language Proficiency: Fluency in both English and Somali is essential
● Technical Proficiency: Proficient in using marketing software, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
5. Reporting and Supervision
The Senior Marketing Officer will report directly to [To be determined, e.g., CEO, Head of Operations] and will work closely with other departmental heads to ensure integrated and effective marketing initiatives.
6. Performance Evaluation
Performance will be evaluated based on the achievement of marketing objectives, effectiveness of campaigns, brand growth, lead generation, budget management, and overall contribution to the company's strategic goals. Regular performance reviews will be conducted in accordance with Baano Healthcare Technology's HR policies.
