About the Job

The Warehouse Supervisor ensures that general warehousing activities are carried out in line with standard operating procedures.

She/he organizes and plans the warehouse’s activities.

This is a national/resident position based in Mogadishu, Somalia.

Duties and Responsibilities

       Ensures that goods are received, stored, and dispatched according to the stipulated procedures

       Ensures that stock is rotated and picked according to the principles of first-in-first-out and/or first-expired-first-out

       Conducts spot checks to ensure warehouse regulations, safety and preventive measures are adhere to

       Ensures that warehouse space is well utilized and makes recommendations for layout changes

       Monitors and ensures goods are properly segregated within the warehouse

       Regularly updates the bin cards and stock cards

       Conducts timely, efficient, and reliable order processing and documentation

       Ensures that there is proper pest control and hygiene in the warehouse

       Records information in the logistics IT system and ensures that discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner

       Prepares and submits the required warehouse reports and statistics

Skills and qualifications

Minimum qualifications and required competencies

       Degree in logistics & procurement Management, warehousing, purchasing & supply Management, Business Administration, or equivalent qualification in a related field of study

       Four (4) years’ work experience in a similar position in a busy Warehouse

       Demonstrate knowledge and experience in inventory planning and control techniques

       Excellent knowledge of political, social, and cultural affairs of the assigned region

       Experience in medical stock management is an asset

       Excellent organizational and analytical skills

       Fluent in written and spoken English and Somali

       Proficiency in MS Office suite

       Valid driving licence
