Job description
TITLE: Field Manager (Health)
REPORTS TO: Chief of Party /Team Leader
COUNTRY: Somalia
LOCATION: Baidao, Southwest State of Somalia
WORKING HOURS: Regular Hours
PSI is looking for an experienced, dynamic, and innovation-driven Field Manager (health) to support the implementation of the Female Health Workers (FHW) Program in SW State. Reporting to the Chief of Party/Team leader, the Health Field Manager will be responsible for overseeing all the operational and program activities in SW State. The Field Manager will be part of the PSI’s senior program team, managing the FHW program in the various federal member states.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day activities of the program, including the management and supervision of staff.
- Ensure that activities are implemented in accordance with the Somalia Community Health Strategy and revised Female Health Worker Compendium.
- Work in conjunction with the SWS State Ministry of Health and provide technical support as needed.
- Serve as the focal person for the FHW program and ensure strong coordination with the SWS State Ministry of Health and other health actors in the State
- Ensure timely completion of activities against workplan.
- Draft programmatic reports and share them with the Chief of Party, for submission to the
- Represent PSI to clusters and technical working groups, e.g., health, WASH, and Nutrition.
- Ensure the efficient use of the project resources.
- Any other role assigned by the Chief of Party.
Skills and qualifications
- Master’s degree in Public Health, digital health, health information systems, or social sciences.
- At least five years of experience in community health worker programs.
- At least 5 years of experience in project management with a proven track record of managing complex health projects.
- Experience managing digital health projects is an added advantage.
- Demonstrated experience in coordination, and the ability to keep multiple teams on track to meet deliverables.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex logistics.
- Good knowledge of supply chain systems
- Ability to manage competing expectations among multiple project stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience engaging communities in health programming.
- Experience in Somalia’s current health system is essential.
- Demonstrable experience of working in PSI priority health areas
- Knowledge of the health context in SW state is essential.
- Experience overseeing the development, roll-out, and capacity building related to health services.
- Excellent communication skills in both English and Somali languages are required.
- Excellent teamwork and facilitation skills
- Excellent report writing skills.
