Purpose of the Position

The Batching Pump Truck/Mixer Operator is responsible for the operation, inspection, and maintenance of concrete mixer trucks and concrete pump systems. This role ensures the safe, timely, and quality delivery of ready-mix concrete to various construction sites and supports the placement of concrete through pumping operations in accordance with site requirements and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

·         Operate batching truck to transport, mix, and deliver concrete to construction sites.

·         Ensure the concrete is mixed properly during transit to maintain quality and consistency.

·         Coordinate with the batching plant and site supervisors to ensure timely and efficient delivery.

·         Monitor slump, temperature, and delivery time to ensure concrete quality meets project specifications.

·         Clean the mixing drum and pump system daily to prevent hardening of leftover concrete.

·         Set up and operate the concrete pump truck and pipeline system at the job site.

·         Position boom or hose accurately to ensure proper concrete placement as per site requirements.

·         Conduct pre-operation checks and ensure all components (hoses, joints, pipes, safety valves) are in working condition before use.

·         Maintain constant communication with the concrete crew to coordinate pumping operations and ensure continuous flow.

·         Perform basic troubleshooting and resolve minor operational issues during pumping or delivery.

·         Adhere strictly to all safety and traffic regulations during driving and on-site operations.

·         Maintain accurate logs of daily deliveries, operating hours, and equipment performance.

·         Monitor the load limit and ensure the truck is not overloaded to avoid mechanical strain and traffic violations.

·         Assist in securing the work area by placing safety barriers or signage during pumping activities.

·         Participate in routine maintenance and servicing of the pump truck in coordination with the maintenance department.

·         Report any equipment malfunctions, defects, or damage immediately to supervisors.

·         Remain flexible and ready to relocate to different sites as required by project needs.

·         Assist in loading and unloading raw materials or support construction tasks if needed.

Concrete Pump Truck Operation

• Set up the pump truck and secure all lines for safe operation.
• Operate the pump system to pour concrete into designated areas as instructed.
• Adjust the boom or hose to ensure proper concrete placement.
• Maintain constant communication with the site team during pouring operations.
• Clean and maintain pump lines after each use to avoid blockages and damage.

Maintenance and Safety

• Conduct daily pre- and post-operation inspections of vehicles and equipment.
• Perform minor maintenance, fueling, and lubrication of the pump and truck.
• Report any mechanical or operational issues to the maintenance department.
• Follow company safety procedures, including use of PPE and hazard prevention.
• Ensure equipment is operated within legal weight and load limits.

Qualifications and Experience

• Valid heavy-duty vehicle driving license and pump/mixer operator certification.
• Minimum 5 years of experience operating batching and pump trucks in construction.
• Strong knowledge of concrete mixing, pumping systems, and related equipment.
• Experience with on-site coordination and safety procedures.
• Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
