Part Time Teachers (Chess for Kids, Puzzle Solving for Kids)

Location: Hargeisa, Sha’ab area

Background: 

Aleen Academy is looking for passionate and creative educators to join our team in Hargeisa, Somaliland. We specialize in providing engaging and creative skills for children, youth and women. We believe in making learning fun and accessible, and we're seeking individuals who can inspire young minds and foster a love for strategic thinking and problem-solving.

1.     Chess for Kids – Part time teacher

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and lead structured, engaging, and age-appropriate chess sessions for kids.
• Teach fundamental moves, basic strategies, and advanced tactics in a creative way.
• Create a positive and encouraging learning environment that emphasizes sportsmanship.
• Adapt teaching methods to suit various age groups and skill levels.
• Communicate effectively with parents and staff.

2.    2. Puzzle Solving for Kids – Part time teacher

Key Responsibilities:

·       Develop and lead sessions focused on diverse puzzles, including logic, visual, and spatial challenges.

·       Organize structured sessions that help children systematically approach and solve problems.

·       Encourage curiosity and persistence, helping kids build confidence in their own abilities.

·       Fluent in English and Somali language

·       Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.

·       Design and implement fun, hands-on activities that keep students engaged.

Qualifications: Chess for Kids – Part time teacher

• Proven experience teaching or coaching chess to children and youth.
• A strong passion for the game and the ability to make it exciting for kids.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Fluent in Somali and English language.
• Creativity and enthusiasm for designing fun, interactive lessons.
• Ability to work independently and manage a classroom.

Qualifications: 2. Puzzle Solving for Kids – Part time teacher

·       Demonstrated experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting.

·       A strong aptitude for and a genuine passion for puzzles and problem-solving.

·       Exceptional creativity and the ability to think outside the box.

·       Excellent communication skills and an empathetic approach to teaching.

·       The ability to create a fun, supportive learning atmosphere.
