Job Title: Sales Travel Consultant (Male Only)

Location: Jigjiga Yar, Hargeisa, Somaliland
Company: UK-Based Travel Agency
Employment Type: Full-Time

Working Hours: 9:00am to 10:00pm (Shifts)

Language: Proficiency in English is the most important requirement, as the role involves working with fluent English speakers.

Our client, a dynamic UK-based travel company, is expanding its operations in Hargeisa. Known for exceptional service and tailored travel solutions, the company specializes in global ticketing and travel management. As part of its growth, the client is seeking motivated team members in Hargeisa to support its international sales operations.

 

Role Overview

As a Sales Travel Consultant, you will be responsible for managing airline reservations, issuing worldwide flight tickets, and assisting customers with booking modifications to ensure high levels of satisfaction. This role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced travel sales environment.

Key Responsibilities

·       Client Consultation: Engage with clients to understand their travel needs, preferences, and budget.

·       Itinerary Planning: Design and present travel options including flights, hotels, car rentals, and tours using GDS platforms like Amadeus, Sabre, or Travelport.

·       Booking & Ticketing: Use GDS to search, book, and issue tickets for flights and other travel services in real time.

·       Sales & Upselling: Promote travel packages, insurance, upgrades, and ancillary services to maximize revenue.

·       Documentation Support: Advise clients on visa requirements, passport validity, and travel advisories.

·       Customer Service: Handle inquiries, resolve complaints, and provide post-booking support.

·       Supplier Relations: Maintain relationships with airlines, hotels, and other travel providers to secure competitive rates and availability.

Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of bookings, payments, and client preferences.

Skills and qualifications

Skills & Experience Required

  •  No prior experience required training will be provided
  • University Degree in Computer Science or IT or Business Administration Flexible.
  • Sales-driven mindset with excellent negotiation and communication skills
  • Attention to detail in fare rules, itinerary accuracy, and client documentation

·       Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple bookings simultaneously

  •  Strong Maths and English proficiency
  • Professional telephone manner and be able to send accurate emails
  • Strong PC skills such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
