Shaqodoon is a local NGO founded in 2011 to create innovative and long-lasting solutions to Somalia/land’s youth employment challenges. Shaqodoon organization designs, delivers and evaluates innovative programs to address some of the local community’s most urgent challenges in livelihood skill training, education, civic education, justice and health. Shaqodoon is a national platform whose goal is to prioritize youth employment and education on the development agenda and to exchange knowledge on effective policies and programs to improve employment and education opportunities for youth, prioritizing at risk youth, marginalized groups, and people who have lost hope and are thus often jailed for local crimes.

Bits Digital Design Academy is a youth-based program that uses ICT multimedia creatively to improve the lives of youth. Bits target population is the youth which are significant portion of the society. Bits school offers ICT trainings for these youth to equip skills to enable them engage in gainful income generating activities. The training is conducted in three levels/stages which include taught theory and practical and hands on training through internship. The training curricula is based on creativity and encompasses marketable applications including graphic designs, motion designs, video editing, app development, web-design and development.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced e-learning content developer to design and develop engaging online learning materials that align with the learning objectives of our courses and programs for the Bits Digital Design Academy. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of instructional design principles, experience with e-learning authoring tools and learning management systems, and a passion for creating effective and interactive learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct rapid-research to understand the target audience, subject matter, and learning objectives
• Design the course structure and content based on the learning objectives and target audience
• Develop e-learning materials, including instructional videos, text-based content, interactive quizzes and assessments, and graphics and animations
• Edit and review e-learning materials to ensure accuracy, clarity, and relevance
• Collaborate with subject matter experts, instructional designers, graphic designers, and project managers to create and deliver high-quality e-learning materials
• Stay up to date with the latest trends and best practices in e-learning development and instructional design
• Test and refine e-learning materials to ensure they are effective in meeting the learning objectives and make any necessary revisions based on feedback

• Bachelor's degree in instructional design, education, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in e-learning content development
• Strong knowledge of instructional design principles and e-learning authoring tools and learning management systems
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
