 Fiber Optic Project Manager

Company Summary:

Bluecom Subsidiary Company that is Internet Service Provider arm of Somtel company of one of the companies under Dahabshiil Group, Dahabshiil Group, the fastest growing business group with interests in financial services, banking, telecommunications, real estate, and energy & power sectors among others. plans to recruit Fiber Optic Project Manager - Bluecom Somaliland, who will oversee Bluecom fiber deployment and implementation activities in Somaliland.

General Position Summary:

The Fiber Optic Project Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating the equipment providers (FO), subcontractors (civil engineering), technical teams and the customer. The manager is part of a high-performing team responsible for the deployment of FTTH.

Essential Job Functions:

• Coordinate projects schedules,
• Develop and maintain customer relationship,
• Create and implement technical inspection and quality assurance procedures,
• Interface with various groups like Applications Engineering and Product Management to stream line item development and set-up,
• Sales and/or technical support training & experience,
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders,
• Develop and manage a FTTH product offering.
• Reinforce standards & procedures for project management and cascade to the regions
• Review network deployment plans
• Schedule implementation projects and manage interdependencies
• Track and monitor implementation performance in the regions; address issues with other project managers
• Review qualification and acceptance testing of implementation activities
• Develop progress reports; ensure project closure & documentation
• Provide project management support to the regions
• Plan, manage and implement major Network implementation programs across the country, working closely with other blueKom technology and business Departments
• Contribute to the development of an effective Network function, enhancing overall performance through adherence to documented policies, procedures and processes and performance measuring and monitoring KPIs
• Any other duties as requested by the Technology Department Head

Knowledge and Experience:

• Bachelor or above degree in telecom, IT or related field.

• Minimum of 3 years total work experience, of which at least 2 years in fiber deployment roles for a telecom company.

• Experience in the Fiber Optic deployment, troubleshooting and Fiber optic issues, strong understanding of utility distribution networks and project management.
• Knowledge of business plans, customer requirements, and market.
• Ability to read, evaluate and interpret schematics, diagrams and maps.
• A high level of personal motivation and enthusiasm
• Ability to work within a team as well as individually and Customer focused
• Planning and organizing skills,
• Quick learner, hard worker, good commercial awareness
• Fluent in English and the local language.
• Quality Assurance of Fiber Execution Work.

• Proficient and fluent in spoken and written English Language

Environmental Conditions

This position is based in Hargeisa, Somaliland and is unaccompanied. Travel within Somaliland is required to support all Somaliland’s offices. This position is eligible for very completive salary package and other benefits as per our Human Resource policy.
