Aleel Real Estate is a growing real estate development and construction company committed to delivering high-quality residential and commercial projects. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant with construction industry experience to join our finance team.
Position Summary
The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting project accounting, monitoring construction costs, processing financial transactions, and ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable accounting standards. The successful candidate will work closely with the Finance Manager to support sound financial management across ongoing construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Record and maintain daily financial transactions.
- Prepare payment vouchers, receipts, journal entries, and bank reconciliations.
- Monitor project costs, budgets, and cost allocations.
- Process supplier invoices and subcontractor payments.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
- Maintain the fixed asset register and depreciation schedules.
- Support budget preparation and variance analysis.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and statutory requirements.
- Assist during internal and external audits.
- Maintain accurate documentation and filing of financial records.
- Perform any other finance-related duties assigned by the Finance Manager.
Skills and qualifications
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of accounting experience in the construction industry is mandatory.
- Good understanding of project accounting and construction cost control.
- Experience with ERP/accounting software (Odoo experience is an added advantage).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet reporting deadlines.
