1.       Research data collection and analysis: our team has the capacity to mobilize enumerators and well-trained data collectors to conduct both qualitative and quantitative data tethering activities.  We had been using mobile data collection platforms and techniques to enhance accuracy and the reliability of the information we gather, our researchers are also well-trained in the analysis of both qualitative and quantitative data by using different statistical analysis packages including SPSS, R, Excel and SATATA software to produce the final results.

Research design and management: we have a team of qualified researchers that include academic staff from different local universities who have access to most parts of the Somalia Regional states.

3.    Programme Management

Our Programme management team comprises professionals with experience in programme management in development and humanitarian contexts in Afric and with a niche in Somalia.

2.       Monitoring and evaluation: we have experience and expertise in conducting monitoring and evaluation activities for projects implemented by both the local non-profit organizations involved in development and humanitarian work, and international development agencies. Our researchers are capable of designing, executing and managing M & E projects, and also adapting existing tools developed by our partners.

3.       Other services: our firm has the capacity to do logistics, visa processing, hiring local and International technical expertise, audit services and capacity building for staff and government ministries conduct technical assessments and evaluations of projects that require the technical expertise and knowledge of specific programs in Somalia.

Position Overview:

Eagle Consulting is seeking Pre-qualified Monitors for 2024 to 2025  to support ongoing monitoring and evaluation (M&E) activities. The Field Monitor will be responsible for collecting and verifying data from project sites, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of field activities. This position will require significant travel within assigned regions, and the ability to work independently in challenging environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of the local context.

Key Responsibilities:

●     Conduct regular field visits to monitor project implementation and assess progress against set objectives.

●     Collect qualitative and quantitative data from project beneficiaries, stakeholders, and other key informants.

●     Monitor the adherence to project timelines and compliance with quality standards

●     Ensure data accuracy by verifying the information gathered and submitting detailed field reports in a timely manner.

●     Report on any challenges or risks observed during field visits, offering suggestions for possible mitigation.

●     Conduct interviews, focus groups, and surveys with beneficiaries, ensuring the data is collected according to established protocols.

●     Support the coordination of field activities, ensuring that project timelines and milestones are adhered to.

●     Maintain good working relationships with community leaders, local authorities, and beneficiaries, acting as a representative of Eagle Consulting in the field.

●     Work closely with the M&E team to identify data gaps and contribute to project learning.

Provide feedback on data collection tools and processes to improve the quality of monitoring activities.

●     Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Development Studies, Social Sciences, Project Management, or a related discipline).

●     Fluency in both Somali and English (spoken and written) is essential.

●     A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in field monitoring, data collection, or project implementation, ideally with NGOs, development agencies, or consultancy firms.

●     Strong knowledge of monitoring and evaluation methodologies and data collection techniques, including surveys, interviews, and focus groups.

●     Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and familiarity with data collection tools (e.g., Kobo Toolbox, ODK, or similar platforms).

●     Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with beneficiaries and local communities.

●     Willingness to travel extensively to remote areas and work in difficult or insecure environments.

●     Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.

●     A solid understanding of the humanitarian and development landscape in Somalia.

●     Ability to work independently, take initiative, and solve problems in the field.

Preferred Qualifications:

●     Previous experience working in Somalia or other conflict-affected areas.

●     Experience with GIS or other mapping tools is a plus.

●     Knowledge of USAID or other donor-funded project monitoring is an added advantage.
