UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, is offering an individual contractor contract within the Talent

Architect Unit of the Global Learning and Development Centre (GLDC) within the Division

of Human Resources (DHR) at Budapest Headquarters.

The position

The position is part of the Division of Human Resources (DHR), a strategic, trusted and innovative partner in enabling UNHCR to protect and respond to persons of concern by attracting, motivating, retaining and developing a talented, diverse and agile workforce, while nurturing a culture of excellence, respect and wellbeing for all. The Global Learning and Development Center GLDC support teams to achieve the highest possible performance to realize the organization’s strategic mission, prepare and continually develop employees and learning ecosystems to achieve the highest possible performance, and design processes, systems and tools to create a culture of continuous learning, career growth, engagement, training performance development knowledge sharing and innovation.

As part of UNHCR’s GLDC’s Talent Architect Unit, the contractor will have the skills to influence at all levels, imparting their digital knowledge and skills in a constructive, empowering, and collaborative way. The Business Transformation Programme (BTP) shall support to improve processes and tools for the teams, and facilitate collaboration, and modernize the way UNHCR works.

Working closely with the Learning and Integrated Talent Experience Section (LITE), Performance and Career Development Section (PCDS), and the Leadership and People Management Section (LPMS), the contractor will support driving the adoption of digital learning, mindset and capabilities.

Duties and responsibilities

1. Champion good learning practices and advancements in digital learning which can be applied to learning initiatives across UNHCR.
2. Execute the digital capability development agenda
3. Collaborating closely with the Digital Engagement team to identify specific gaps in competencies needed to support business goals and objectives of UNHCR’s Digital Transformation Agenda.
4. Design a range of scalable, effective, and engaging digital learning experiences for

UNHCR’s workforce.

1. Collaborate to enrich existing learning platforms with learning content on digital and new ways of working.
2. Contributes toward defining the product roadmap for learning systems and driving enhancements through vendor relationships.
3. Ensure collaboration, knowledge sharing, and digital best practices between partners and colleagues to help embed a robust digital learning ecosystem.
4. Coordinate with the newly established Regional People Development Team in GLDC to ensure smooth alignment between digital learning innovation activities and operations.
5. Recommend and analyse benchmarks within the Digital Learning Transformation with those of comparable humanitarian organizations/ private sectors companies.
6. Manage and continue to grow an internal and external digital learning innovation ecosystem.
7. Identifying new tools - AI (Artificial Intelligence), digital, ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) features - that can support, enhance, and improve employee experience.

Education:

• University degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Information Management, Information and Communication technology, Social Science or a related field.

Work experience:

• 6 years relevant experience with Undergraduate degree; or 5 years relevant experience with Graduate degree; or 4 years relevant experience with Doctorate degree.
• Proven record of accomplishment of leading successful digital transformation projects
• Understand core business processes and associated technical solutions
• Have an innovative and disruptive mindset, constantly looking forward
• Proven success working with all levels of management
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong presentation skills
• Demonstrated multi-cultural awareness and sensitivity in development of recommendations, work tools and recommended approaches
• Proven skills in data analytics using qualitative and quantitative approaches and visualization,
• Experience in project management or change management initiatives
• Client and results oriented individual holding a ‘’can-do’’ attitude and demonstrated active collaborator in the delivery of work objectives, including the ability to work independently
• Ability to plan, organize, coordinate, multitask and prioritize under pressure with minimal supervision
• Experience using Workday or a similar digital cloud platform
• Ability to use creativity and collaborative approaches to problem solving for engagement with GLDC and other DHR Sections, Regional Bureaus and Field offices

Location

The successful candidate will be home-based.

Conditions

The contractor position is for 12 months, and the start date is asap. The working days are from Monday to Friday.

The Individual Contractor shall have the legal status of an independent individual contracted by UNHCR, thus corporate and institutional consultants are not invited to apply to this opening.
