I.          Background

SUHAD (Scaling up Humanitarian Assistance & Development) is a dynamic Somali non-governmental organization established in 2017 by a group of passionate local professionals committed to elevating the living conditions in Somalia. Operating as a non-political, non-profit, and non-governmental entity, SUHAD is dedicated to addressing the multifaceted challenges faced by communities, especially in the Southern states of Somalia. With a strong focus on sustainable livelihood programs encompassing food security, agriculture, health, education, and climate change mitigation, SUHAD employs participatory methodologies to ensure inclusive and impactful interventions. Recognized and certified by both Federal and State authorities, SUHAD is poised to make a lasting difference in the lives of vulnerable populations, employing a vision of improved resilience, health, and sustainable livelihoods for the people of Somalia.

II.        Objective

The M&E Assistant will support the Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist in establishing and implementing effective M&E systems for peace building, reconciliation and social cohesion programs in Baidoa and Hudur in South West State, Somalia.

III.    Key Responsibilities

1.       Data Collection and Entry:

•       Assist in the collection of data through surveys, interviews, and other data collection methods as per the M&E plan and Project Result framework.

•       Ensure accurate and timely entry of data into databases or information management systems.

2.       Data Quality Assurance:

•       Conduct regular data quality checks to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of collected information.

•       Flag any data discrepancies or issues for prompt resolution.

3.       Reporting Support:

•       Assist in the preparation of regular M&E reports by providing accurate data and information.

•       Support in the documentation of findings, case studies, and success stories for reporting purposes.

4.       M&E Framework Implementation:

•       Assist in implementing the M&E framework, ensuring compliance with project requirements and established indicators.

•       Contribute to the monitoring of project activities and outputs.

5.       Capacity Building and Training:

•       Provide support in training project staff and partners on data collection tools and methodologies.

•       Assist in building the capacity of local stakeholders in data collection processes.

•       Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (statistics, social sciences, international development, etc.) or equivalent work experience.

•       Prior experience in data collection, entry, and basic analysis; experience in M&E activities is advantageous.

•       Familiarity with data collection tools and software, including Excel or statistical software.

•       Detail-oriented with a strong ability to organize and manage data effectively.

•       Good communication and reporting skills.

•       Ability to work effectively within a team and in challenging environments.

•       Fluency in English; proficiency in Somali languages is beneficial.
