Location: Kismayo and Jamame, Lower Juba, Somalia
Duration: 10 months, renewable based on performance, funds, and need for the position

The overall objective of the ALIGHT in Somalia program is to prevent death and alleviate human suffering among affected internally displaced persons (IDPs) in settlements and host communities where we work. ALIGHT has embarked on WASH, Health, Protection, shelter, and livelihood activities in lower juba region of Somalia and health and WASH program in both Banadir, Middle Shabelle Jubaland, Sool region and maroodijeex of Somaliland expand to other parts of the Country. Alight is taking a multi-sectoral approach in responding to the severe drought conditions through a range of activities including Health, Relief Commodities and WASH.
The Somalia Program of the Alight has fully-fledged offices in Mogadishu, Kismayo, Dhobley, Afmadow, Hargeisa, and Las Anod in Somaliland besides a liaison office in Nairobi, Kenya. Alight is working closely with national and regional authorities and with several Somalia-based international and national organizations to galvanize coordinated lifesaving humanitarian assistance to the people in need.
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
ALIGHT is implementing the Integrated Relief and Nutrition Project in Lower Juba. The Community Mobilizer will be responsible for conducting field-based project activities and coordinating with various project stakeholders at ALIGHT, including the Livelihoods and Food Security (LFS) programme, the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) team, and the Community Engagement and Accountability (CEA) team. The Mobilizer will be based in Kismayo and will support activities across all designated project target locations.
MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY /PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Overall Responsibilities:
The Team Leader - CBT will be responsible for the day-to-day management, coordination, and implementation of ALIGHT’s WFP-funded Integrated Relief and Nutrition Project for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and vulnerable host communities in Kismayo and Jamame Districts.
Main Responsibilities and Tasks:
Under the direct supervision of the project food security and livelihood coordinator and in collaboration with the Project FSL coordinator and project team, the Team Leader will:
· Facilitate community mobilization, meetings, and trainings before cash redemption activities.
· Collaborate with village relief Committees to ensure ALIGHT and WFP receive regular feedback from beneficiaries, including complaints regarding service quality.
· Sensitize beneficiaries on project objectives, entitlements, complaint mechanisms, and redemption schedules.
· Represent ALIGHT in engagements with community leaders, local authorities, and other humanitarian actors at field level.
· Conduct regular meetings with community structures and stakeholders, ensuring minutes are documented and shared with project leadership.
· Maintain active community outreach to promote two-way communication between beneficiaries and the CBT team.
· Supervise and guide Field Monitors, ensuring accountability, performance tracking, and continuous capacity building.
· Oversee the distribution of SCOPE cards to targeted beneficiaries.
· Monitor monthly cash redemption and cash-out activities, including market price tracking, vendor compliance monitoring, and ensuring beneficiaries are treated fairly and with dignity.
· Organize monthly vendor/agent meetings to address challenges, ensure compliance with WFP guidelines, and advocate for beneficiary needs.
· Timely report irregularities, protection concerns, or operational challenges to project leadership.
· Conduct regular field visits to beneficiary communities to monitor food security outcomes and collect feedback.
· Prepare and submit detailed weekly and monthly activity reports to food security coordinator.
· Support data collection for project outcome monitoring surveys and assessments.
· Uphold ALIGHT’s Code of Ethics, WFP’s Protection Principles and standards in all interactions with beneficiaries, vendors, and communities.

Candidate Profile
Minimum Education Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in social science, Economics, Agriculture, International Affairs, Business Administration, Development Studies, or a related field.
Desired Competencies / Skills:
· At least 3 year of relevant work experience in cash-based programming, food security, or livelihoods.
· Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
· Professional, motivated, open-minded, culturally sensitive, and flexible.
· Experience working in cash transfer and/or social protection programming.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
· Ability and willingness to work in field locations and travel to remote areas.
· Fluency in English and Somali (spoken and written) is essential.
· Strong team spirit and ability to coordinate diverse teams.
Preferred:
· Prior experience with WFP-funded projects, food security, cash programming, or nutrition-focused humanitarian interventions.
· Good understanding of Lower Juba local context
· Previous experience with international NGOs or humanitarian organizations.
