Position Overview

Ogal Consulting is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Senior Research Executive to support and lead research projects. The ideal candidate will be experienced in managing multiple research tasks, liaising with clients, and delivering high-quality insights through rigorous data collection, analysis, and reporting. This role requires strong quantitative and qualitative research skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop data collection tools, including questionnaires and discussion guides, ensuring alignment with research objectives.
• Manage and coordinate multiple research projects from inception through to delivery, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met.
• Conduct data analysis using statistical software (e.g., SPSS, STATA, R) and prepare clear, actionable reports and presentations.
• Liaise directly with clients to understand their needs, provide updates, and ensure satisfaction with research outputs.
• Support business development through proposal writing, contributing to project scoping and cost estimation.
• Supervise and mentor junior research staff and enumerators, fostering team development and capacity building.
• Ensure adherence to ethical standards and data protection policies throughout all research activities.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of research methodologies, sector trends, and best practices.
• Present research findings to internal teams, clients, and stakeholders in a clear and engaging manner.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (Master’s preferred) in social sciences, economics, public policy, statistics, or related field.
• Minimum 3 to 4 years of experience in research and evaluation, preferably within a consulting or development context.
• Strong expertise in quantitative research methods and familiarity with qualitative approaches.
• Proficiency in statistical analysis software such as SPSS, STATA, or R.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Experience working in East Africa or similar contexts is an advantage.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Strong client management and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
