POSITION TITLE: Finance officer

REPORTS TO: Program Director

LOCATION :   Mogadishu- Somalia

1.    Introduction/ Background of NASDO

Nolal Awareness and Social Development Organisation is a non-profit organization that aims to promote social development and awareness in communities. The organization was founded in 2011 and it focuses on various areas such as Nutrition, health, WASH, education, livelihoods and other resilience programs Nolal Awareness and Social Development Organisation has worked with different stakeholders such as government agencies, NGOs, and community-based organizations to implement their programs. The organization's vision is to create empowered communities that are resilient, sustainable, and socially just. They prioritize the participation of marginalized groups such as women, youth, and indigenous peoples in their programs. overall, Nolal Awareness and Social Development Organisation plays a vital role in promoting social development and awareness in communities, particularly among marginalized groups. NASDO Operated in Benadir region and Hirshabele state.

2. JOB PURPOSE

The purpose of the Finance Officer position is day to day implementation of the Finance functions responsibilities. He/she will be responsible in implement NASDO's systems and procedures at area level, ensure adherence to NASDO policies, handbooks, guidelines and donor requirements, Prepare and submit reports and analysis, support line managers in procedures and require support team trainings and Support project staff in financial matters

3. JOB DESCRIPTION: KEY RESPONSIBILITY

Following  are the  key responsibility;

Ø  Implement financial systems and procedures according to Financial Handbook and other NASDO policies at the office level.

Ø  Ensure timely payment of staff salaries, contractors, suppliers and other expenditures.

Ø  Ensure that the accounting, monitoring, and reporting are according to procedures (Finance)

Ø   Support project staff in financial matters (Finance).

Ø  Preparing monthly budget monitoring (Finance).

Ø  Meeting with budget holders in the regard of the monitored budget.

Ø  Preparing new budget proposal with budget holders.

Ø  Preparation of donor report

Ø  Participation Master budget management and analysis

Ø  Field offices visit and train the field finance staff.

Ø  Coordinate with relevant partners, suppliers, authorities, lawyers etc. (HR)

Ø  Provide anti-corruption, transparency and cost efficiency focus on all processes.

Ø  Maintain the filling system (online / physical) for all financial and accounting documents.

Ø  Any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Skills and qualifications

Ø  A university degree graduate in Finance, Business Administration , Commerce, Accounting Certified Public Accountant, or any other relevant field

Ø   Minimum of 3-5 years' work experience a similar position.

Ø  Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts.

Ø  Experience from working as a Support Function Officer in a humanitarian/recovery context.

Ø  Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.  Fluency in English, both written and verbal.

Ø  We are particularly looking for a positive individual with strong communication skills, who can build trust and confidently navigate both internally and externally at different levels.

Ø  Good knowledge of financial reporting systems, and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Ø  In this position you will join highly motivated and expert staff who are making a difference to the most vulnerable people.

Ø  Confident competency in budget and financial management and monitoring with multiple stakeholders;

Ø  Computer literacy (MS Office and MS project) 

Ø  Ability to  Promote a collegial and constructive environment based on open communication, positive team building, and effective management of student relationships.

Ø  Have Problem-solving , Leadership , Time management, Decision-making  and Prioritization and delegation skills.
