Job Title: Business Promotion Assistant
Location: Mogadishu, Somalia
Department: CPI Innovations
Reports to: Agribusiness Manager
Role Overview
As a Business Promotion Assistant, you will be the "boots on the ground" for our mission across Somalia. You will be responsible for promoting our high-yield seeds, fertilizers, and modern farming techniques to smallholder farmers, cooperatives, and distributors. Your goal is to drive sales by demonstrating the tangible value our products bring to the harvest.
Key Responsibilities
- Field Demonstrations: Organize and lead "demo plots" to show farmers the difference in yield between traditional methods and our productivity-boosting solutions.
- Community Engagement: Build strong relationships with local village elders, farmer associations, and NGOs to build trust in our brand.
- Market Awareness: Collect data on local planting seasons, soil challenges, and competitor pricing to help the company adapt its strategy.
- Sales Support: Assist in the distribution of promotional materials (flyers, radio ad coordination) and help process orders for local retailers.
- Reporting: Maintain weekly logs of farmer feedback, attendance at promotional events, and conversion rates.
Skills and qualifications
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Diploma or Degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Marketing, or a related field.
- Language: Fluency in Somali (including local dialects) is essential; proficiency in English is a strong advantage.
- Knowledge: A solid understanding of the Somali agricultural context
- Soft Skills: Excellent persuasion and public speaking skills.
- Mobility: Willingness to travel frequently to rural areas and agricultural hubs.
