DEPUTY HOSPITAL MANAGER (Rajeb Dayyip Erdogan - Ex-Digfeer Hospital)
Position Overview
The Deputy Hospital Manager is a significant managerial role within the hospital administrative structure. The DHM will assist the manager in oversighting the day to day operations, strategic planning and overall management of the hospital to ensure that healthcare services of significant quality are delivered to the Somalia Population.
Reporting
The DHM will be supervised and report directly to the Hospital Manager as well as work closely with departmental heads, medical and administrative staff.
Responsibilities
Operational oversight: Participate in the management and coordination of daily hospital operations such as administrative work, adherence to statutory and regulatory standards, management of the hospital and healthcare services delivery.
Patient care: Ensure that patient care services are provided in accordance with established standards and protocols. Deal with patients’ complaints and issues promptly ensuring that patients are satisfied with the health services rendered.
Strategic planning: Participate in the development and implementation of the hospitals strategic plan, including developing midterm and long term goals, developing strategic objectives, risk analysis and monitoring progress of implementation of the strategic plan.
Resource management: Work with human resource, finance, procurement and departmental heads to ensure equitable distribution of resources across all departments.
Quality assurance: Monitoring the implementation of statutory and quality standards, patient safety protocols.
Emergency preparedness: Work with the Hospital Manager to develop and update emergency response teams. Participate in drills and exercises to ensure that the hospital is in a capacity to handle emergencies promptly.
Performance evaluation: Participate and facilitate in internal and external evaluation of the hospital departments, identify gaps, develop and implement corrective actions.
Data analysis: Use data to identify trends of specific diseases, measure KPIs and make informed decisions to optimize hospital operations.
Staff supervision and development: Help in the recruitment process, training and supervision of hospital staff. Provide guidance and support to staff members ensuring a safe and productive work environment.
Interdepartmental coordination: Aid effective communication and collaboration among the various departments in the hospital as well as address interdepartmental issues and conflicts that may arise.
Community engagement: Represent the hospital in the community and maintain good relationship with the hospital stakeholder’s i.e the community, patients, local organization, MoH etc.
Innovation and process improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and innovation within the hospital operations. Implement
changes to processes provided by stakeholders, audit reports in order to enhance efficiency and high quality healthcare delivery.
Skills and qualifications
A master’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, Hospital Management, Public Health, or General Medicine
A bachelor’s degree in medicine, clinical medicine, nursing, public health business administration or any related field
A minimum of 6 years of experience in a managerial position with a proven track record of leadership and operational excellence
Preferable has worked in the Hospital and understanding the context surrounding on it.
Good understanding of healthcare regulations, quality standards and best practices
Good communication, interpersonal and proven solving skills Proficiency in data analysis and technology savvy.
Proficiency in English and Turkish Languages
