We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented General Accountant to join one our partners Financial management team in Mogadishu and ensure strong financial management, compliance, and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and reports in compliance with organizational policies and accounting standards.

• Manage day-to-day accounting transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.

• Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

• Monitor cash flow, budgets, and expenditures to ensure efficient use of resources.

• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, tax filings, and regulatory reporting.

• Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

• Develop and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard financial assets.

• Provide financial analysis and insights to support management decision-making.

• Collaborate with program and operations teams to ensure accurate financial tracking of projects.

• Maintain confidentiality and integrity in handling financial data.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or ACCA certification is an added advantage).

• Minimum of 3–5 years of proven experience in accounting or financial management, preferably in NGOs or private sector organizations.

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations.

• Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or other ERP systems) and MS Excel.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a multicultural environment.

• Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and ability to handle confidential information.
