Position Overview: Horyaal Hospital is seeking a skilled and experienced ICU Nurse to join our dynamic critical care team. The ICU Nurse will play a pivotal role in providing advanced nursing care for critically ill patients in our intensive care unit (ICU).  

Area of Accountability:

1.      Provide advanced nursing care to patients in the ICU, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being.

2.      Monitor and assess patients' conditions continuously, including vital signs, neurological status, and response to treatment.

3.      Administer medications, IV therapies, and other treatments as prescribed by physicians, adhering to hospital protocols and guidelines.

4.      Operate and monitor specialized medical equipment and life support systems, such as ventilators, cardiac monitors, and infusion pumps.

5.      Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.

6.      Respond promptly to changes in patients' conditions, initiating appropriate interventions and alerting physicians as necessary.

7.      Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families, addressing concerns and facilitating communication with the healthcare team.

8.      Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including nursing assessments, care plans, and progress notes.

9.      Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe environment in the ICU.

10.  Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education programs to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.

v  Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.

v  Minimum of 3 years of recent experience in critical care nursing, preferably in an ICU setting.

v  Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.

v  Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting critical care equipment and technology.

v  Strong assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.

v  Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a compassionate and patient-centered approach.

v  Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment, demonstrating resilience and adaptability.

v  Commitment to upholding ethical standards and maintaining patient confidentiality.

v  Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
