Job Purpose:
The Finance Officer will manage the financial operations of RAAS Agribusiness Solution, ensuring strong financial planning, accurate monitoring, and compliance with regulatory requirements. The role will contribute to the smooth execution of projects that drive agricultural innovation and sustainability in Somalia.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Management & Reporting
o Maintain accurate financial records and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial
statements.
o Assist in preparing financial reports for management and external partners.
o Conduct financial forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow management to support project
execution.
o Monitor expenditures to ensure alignment with approved budgets and funding agreements.
2. Accounts Payable & Receivable
o Handle day-to-day accounting tasks, including managing accounts payable and receivable.
o Ensure timely invoicing, payment of suppliers, and reconciliation of accounts.
3. Banking & Cash Management
o Oversee bank transactions, prepare bank reconciliations, and manage relationships with financial institutions.
o Ensure adequate liquidity for operations and monitor cash flow.
4. Taxation & Compliance
o Ensure compliance with local and international tax regulations and submit tax returns on
time.
o Liaise with auditors and regulatory bodies to ensure the company’s financial practices meet required standards.
5. Payroll & Employee Expenses
o Manage payroll processing and ensure employee benefits, deductions, and taxes are
accurately handled.
o Process and reconcile staff expenses, travel reimbursements, and advances.
6. Procurement & Asset Management
o Collaborate with the procurement team to manage project budgets for materials and services.
o Maintain and update the asset register, ensuring accurate tracking of company assets.
7. Financial Systems Development
o Support the implementation of financial systems, policies, and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
o Assist with the introduction of new accounting software and financial management tools.
Skills and qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• Professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent).
• Proficiency in English (both written and spoken) is essential.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably in an agribusiness or project-based environment.
• Proficiency in financial software, particularly QuickBooks and Excel.
• Strong knowledge of financial regulations, taxation, and accounting standards.
• Experience in budgeting, financial forecasting, and cash flow management.
