Job description
AYUUB NGO is a non-profit, impartial, non-political and voluntary national NGO based in South Central Somalia with offices in Banadir region, South West State, Hirshabelle and Jubaland states. AYUUB was established 1991 in Ayuub village- Merka district.
AYUUB NGO has responded to Somalia’s worst humanitarian crisis for over 30 years amidst civil unrest, hunger, disease, drought and floods that have ravaged the horn of African country as a national leader in humanitarian programming in WASH, Livelihoods support, CCCM, health, nutrition, education, child protection and child rights governance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate and functionally manage the planning and direction of AYUUB Nutrition mobile teams.
- Promote community participation in all nutrition promotion activities.
- Conduct monthly pre-distribution meetings with stakeholders and the food distribution committee to discuss upcoming distributions, address any concerns, and ensure effective coordination.
- Facilitate food distribution committee meetings to gather input, feedback, and recommendations regarding the distribution process.
- Provide day-to-day supervision during food distribution activities, ensuring adherence to distribution protocols, beneficiary targeting criteria, and quality standards.
- Support and guide field staff and volunteers in conducting food distribution activities safely and efficiently.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly supervision reports summarizing observations, challenges, and recommendations for improvement during food distribution activities.
- Document any incidents, complaints, or issues arising during the distribution process and provide recommendations for their resolution.
- Monitor the accuracy and completeness of register books on a daily basis, ensuring that beneficiary information, distribution records, and other relevant data are properly recorded.
- Identify and address any discrepancies or errors in the register books promptly.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports based on the information recorded in the register books, highlighting key distribution statistics, challenges faced, and achievements.
- Regularly follow up on stock cards, daily inventory records, and distribution lists to ensure accurate and up-to-date information on food stocks, distributions, and beneficiaries.
- Work closely with logistics and supply chain teams to reconcile discrepancies, address stock shortages, and ensure efficient management of food supplies.
- Ensure the monthly beneficiary active and discharge lists are shared with office accurately and in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with the data management team to ensure beneficiary data in the SCOPE system is accurate and uploaded on a daily basis.
- Ensure beneficiaries' registrations and food distributions are accurately captured and recorded in the SCOPE system.
- Coordinate with the data management team to resolve any technical issues and duplicates or challenges related to SCOPE data entry and reporting.
- Monitor staff attendance on a daily basis, maintaining accurate records and addressing any attendance-related issues promptly.
- Prepare monthly timesheets for staff, ensuring accuracy and timely submission to the HR department.
- Identify staff training needs in the program and advise essential structural adjustment needed for effective program delivery.
- Ensure that supplies needed by programs under his/her supervision are properly managed while producing good consumption plans.
- Constantly monitor the nutrition needs in the project area and propose appropriate action
- Participate in needs assessment to establish future nutrition programs
- Participate in the writing of timely and accurate monthly reports in collaboration with Field Coordinator
- Ensures good standards in the delivery of preventive and nutrition promoting services.
Supervision and monitoring of nutrition activities and programmes at fixed and outreach level.
Skills and qualifications
- At least a Diploma in Nursing or Nutrition or Public Health.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the same position.
- Good organization and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work in a team.
- Good interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. Fluency in Somali required.
