FOR SIX (6) ENGINEERING AND TECHNICAL POSITIONS FOR AN UPCOMING
CONSTRUCTION AND IRRIGATION PROJECT

Project Location: Jigjiga, Ethiopia
AL-HIDIK Hardware & Construction Co. Ltd invites qualified Ethiopian professionals to apply
for the following positions for upcoming construction and irrigation projects to be implemented
in Jigjiga, Ethiopia. The project is expected to start in the near future; therefore, the company is
collecting applications in advance.
1. Project Manager (1 Position)
Qualification:
MSc or BSc in Civil Engineering (Irrigation Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering, or a related
field)
Experience:
• Minimum 10 years of work experience for MSc holders or 12 years for BSc holders
• Experience in at least four (4) similar projects
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan, organize, and manage overall project activities
• Lead and supervise the engineering and technical team
• Ensure project implementation according to required quality, schedule, and budget
• Prepare project progress reports and communicate with the client and stakeholders
2. Construction Engineer (1 Position)
Qualification:
MSc or BSc in Civil Engineering or a related field
Experience:
• Minimum 8 years (MSc) or 10 years (BSc)
• Experience in at least five (5) similar construction projects
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise construction activities at the project site
• Ensure works comply with approved designs and specifications
• Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and workers
• Prepare site reports and monitor project progress
3. Irrigation Engineer (1 Position)
Qualification:
MSc or BSc in Civil Engineering or a related field
Experience:
• Minimum 8 years (MSc) or 10 years (BSc)
• Experience in at least five (5) similar irrigation projects
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and supervise irrigation systems and water distribution networks
• Monitor construction of canals, pipelines, and water control structures
• Ensure efficient water management and irrigation performance
• Provide technical guidance on irrigation infrastructure
4. Electromechanical Engineer (1 Position)
Qualification:
MSc or BSc in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
Experience:
• Minimum 8 years (MSc) or 10 years (BSc)
• Experience in at least four (4) similar projects
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise installation and maintenance of electromechanical equipment
• Monitor pumps, motors, and mechanical systems
• Ensure proper operation of electrical and mechanical components
• Troubleshoot machinery and technical problems
5. Foreman (2 Positions)
Qualification:
Diploma or higher qualification in construction-related fields
Experience:
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience
• Experience in at least eight (8) similar construction projects
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise daily construction activities on site
• Assign tasks and guide construction workers
• Ensure safety procedures and site regulations are followed
• Report daily progress to engineers and project managers
6. Surveyor (1 Position)
Qualification:
Diploma or higher qualification in Surveying or related fields
Experience:
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience
• Experience in at least eight (8) similar projects
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct land and site surveys
• Measure and mark construction locations
• Prepare survey reports, maps, and measurements
• Assist engineers in project layout and planning
