Position: Multisectoral Project Assistant
Department: Project Implementation Unit
Location: Wajid, Barawe and Elberde, Somalia
Contract Duration: 31st December
Direct Hierarchy: Project Officer

ACTED is looking for professionally confident, self-motivated, experienced, and committed team player to fill the Three (3) Multisectoral Project ASSISTANTs position one (1) in Wajid, one (1) Barawe and one (1) Elberde, Somalia.
Position Profile:
The Multisectoral Project Assistant (CCCM/FSL/WASH) for ACTED South West State Team will be responsible for the needs assessment and implementation of CCCM/FSL/WASH activities in one of the three specified areas – Wajid, Barawe, or Elberde. He/she will also oversee all CCCM/FSL/Wash activities in target communities as required by the current priorities of the ongoing projects and as assigned by the Project Officer. Additionally, this position will support CCCM/FSL/Wash Component i.e LA Engagement, Geographical targeting, Beneficiary selection, proper documentation of implementation, development of staff/hygiene promotion volunteers, etc. The Project Assistant ensure implementation Camp Coordination and Camp management is done in close collaboration with program staff, the local community, the Local authority, and other relevant agencies.
Duties and Responsibilities
FUNCTIONS
- Mobilization
- Community engagement, including sensitization, mobilization, formation of community committees (CMCs and VRCs).
- Support project officer to carry out transparent beneficiary selection as per the criteria in close coordination with other team members, local authorities, communities, and humanitarian agencies working in the area.
- Conduct field-based needs assessments and consolidate the information for planning and implementing CCCM/FSL/WASH project activities in Somalia.
- Mobilize community members to actively participate in CCCM/FSL/WASH interventions.
- Design appropriate sanitation facilities for the target communities.
- Support Project officer in organizing activities of FSL Programme including target area selection, beneficiary selection, input distribution, documentation, and reporting.
- Design appropriate sanitation facilities for the target communities.
- Implement a context specific health promotion sessions for the operation area.
- Implement appropriate CCCM/FSL/WASH requirements, waste management, safe water supply and hygiene promotion, in ACTED facilities.
- Beneficiaries’ engagements and follow up.
- Take the lead to supervise enumerators during Beneficiaries registration.
- Follow up Beneficiaries payment and record and sort out issues raised during the cash delivery and report the project officer.
- Assist, implement, and facilitate identification of most vulnerable beneficiaries who require project assistance.
- Assist project officer in registration of beneficiaries and distribution of assistance in line with ACTED polices and donor.
- Provide any kind of assistance to FSL programming, based on needs identified and assignments delegated.
- Supervision and Training
- Directly supervise the CCCM/FSL/WASH Enumerators and Community Volunteers.
- Training of CMCs and hygiene promoters
- Ensure proper filing of documents.
- Ensure to collect and keep training documents (Attendance, meal sheets, payments MOUs, Agreements.
- Keep record of all required documents related to the program e.g sim cards distribution registers.
- Do any other assigned activities by your line manager.
Skills and qualifications
- Completion of university degree in, humanities, social studies
- Minimum one year of experience in international and/or local NGO; ideally involved in the direct implementation of field level humanitarian assistance to refugees or IDPs.
- Knowledge and previous work with camp management agency, FSL and WASH programming
- Technical skills such as Microsoft Office.
