Job Profile:
We are seeking a Civil Engineer to join Mott MacDonald's International Development Team on the Somaliland Development Fund Phase 3 (SDF3), supporting key infrastructure projects in Water, Agriculture and Livestock sectors aligned with Somaliland’s National Development Plan. The role is based in Hargeisa, Somaliland.
Job Description:
The Civil Engineer will join Mott MacDonald as part of the Fund Management Team and shall work closely with Government ministry Project Management Teams (PMT) to ensure successful project delivery under SDF3. Main duties include:
Supporting the PMT with infrastructure delivery, ensuring highest HSE standards
Quality control and contract management
Reporting and site supervision
Assisting the with monitoring and evaluation activities
Contributing to procurement evaluations
Other tasks as required by the Fund Management leadership
Skills and qualifications
Candidate Specification:
University Degree in Civil Engineering or relevant field
Extensive experience working in Somaliland in a Civil Engineering role, including site supervision on infrastructure projects in the Water, Agriculture and Livestock sectors
Strong contract management skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office (design software advantageous)
Excellent communication skills; fluent in English
Knowledge of Somali language
Problem-solving abilities and adaptability
