ABOUT ACTIONAID INTERNATIONAL SOMALILAND

ActionAid International is a global justice Federation working in about 70 countries across the world to achieve social justice, gender equality and poverty eradication. ActionAid is currently registered in Somaliland with the Ministry of National Planning and Development. We have been operating in Somaliland for over 32 years with most operations concentrated in 4 out of 6 regions in Somaliland. We work directly in many communities across our operational areas with people’s organizations, women’s movements, youth activists, and networks, social movements, and other allies to overcome the structural causes and consequences of poverty and injustice. We connect the work we do at community level with broader efforts and struggles for justice at the national, regional, and global level to make the greatest contribution towards a just, equitable and sustainable world.

Objectives And Scope of Work

Somaliland exhibits a pronounced susceptibility to natural disasters and the impacts of climate change. The agricultural sector in Somaliland is significantly affected by climate change, which in turn has effects on food security, hygiene, water supply, and sanitation (WASH), protection, and preparedness for humanitarian responses. The phenomenon of climate change is anticipated to intensify apprehensions regarding food security through its impact on agricultural output, modification of supply networks, and escalation of food prices. This requires individuals to possess adaptability and engage in continuous learning. Ongoing capacity building is a crucial component in fostering knowledge acquisition and learning within targeted communities, as well as enhancing resilience during the ongoing activities of ActionAid in Somaliland. The goal of capacity building is to offer specialized information and guidance across several subject areas.

As a result, ActionAid International Somaliland (AAIS) aims to establish a pre-qualified pool of trainers/facilitators who possess the requisite competence, expertise, and technical knowledge in the following thematic categories:

  1. Agriculture and Innovative Farming Techniques
  2. Climate change and Adaptation Measures
  3. Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR)
  4. Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH)
  5. Women’s Rights with particular focus on women economic empowerment, GBV, FGM.

Protection, and safeguarding.

  1. Humanitarian Response programming
  2. Business Management and Entrepreneurship
  3. Advocacy, lobbying and Campaigning.
  4. Digital Media and Communication

The Roster Timeline:

The designated prequalified roster will be valid for a duration of three years, during which the chosen prequalified individuals will be notified and contacted as necessary.
