2. Job Purpose:
The Project Officer- GBV will be responsible for the day-to-day management, implementation, and monitoring of GBV-related activities. The position involves working closely with community members, implementing partners, and other key stakeholders to ensure that the project’s objectives are met, with a strong focus on the safety and dignity of survivors.
3. Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Implementation:
- Oversee the implementation of GBV project activities, ensuring alignment with program objectives and donor requirements.
- Coordinate community-based awareness campaigns, support services for survivors, and capacity-building activities.
- Ensure that activities adhere to international standards, including the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) Guidelines and other GBV standards.
- Support community level planning, coordination, and day to day implementation of community outreach activities and quality GBV case management and Psychosocial Support Services (PSS) by CRW and partners in accordance with GBV guiding principles, Adolescent Girls Safe Space (AGSS) Manuals and Inter-Agency Case Management Guidelines and CEFM guidelines.
- Responsible/focal person for all GBV project activities under the ECH project in the target locations.
- Be responsible for WGSS programming and male engage activities across the target locations.
Case Management and Survivor Support:
- Provide support to case and social workers and ensure survivors receive timely and appropriate services, including psychosocial support, legal aid, and medical care.
- Monitor case management processes and ensure confidentiality, ethical standards, and quality of services.
Monitoring and Reporting:
- Ensure regular monitoring of project activities and outputs.
- Collect, analyze, and report on data related to GBV incidents, program effectiveness, and lessons learned.
- Prepare and submit regular progress reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Capacity Building:
- Organize training sessions and workshops for local partners, community-based organizations, and relevant stakeholders on GBV prevention and response.
- Develop training materials, tools, and resources tailored to the local context.
Coordination and Partnerships:
- Foster strong working relationships with local government authorities, NGOs, UN agencies, and other key stakeholders involved in GBV prevention and response.
- Ensure timely and effective coordination between sectors and organizations to address cross-cutting issues related to GBV.
Advocacy and Awareness Raising:
- Support the development and dissemination of advocacy materials to raise awareness about GBV and its impact
- Participate in coordination meetings, sectoral working groups, and relevant forums.
Compliance and Accountability:
- Ensure that all activities comply with the organization’s policies and procedures, as well as relevant national and international laws and standards.
- Ensure accountability mechanisms are in place and that beneficiaries can safely provide feedback and complaints.
Skills and qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor Degree in Social Work, Gender Studies, International Development, Public Health or a related field. A master’s degree is an asset.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in humanitarian programming, which 3 years of them should be GBV including direct field implementation, preferably in humanitarian or emergency settings.
- Experience in case management, psychosocial support, and community mobilization.
Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of GBV standards and guidelines.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and in teams.
- Fluency in English, with excellent writing and reporting skills.
- Strong monitoring, evaluation, and analytical skills.
Desirable:
- Experience with donor reporting and grant management.
- Knowledge of local languages and cultural norms.
- Familiarity with data protection and confidentiality protocols.

Working Conditions:
- The Project Officer-GBV will be based in Adadle with occasional travel to project sites as needed.
- The position will require flexibility in working hours to accommodate program activities and urgent needs.
