Job description
o Performing consultations for the patients in Adult and Under-five OPD in an outreach setup and managing Emergency cases accordingly
o Prepare weekly outreach MHNT schedule and organize and conduct daily MHNT activities as per the schedule
o Ensure that proper referral system is in place and monitor the movement of patients in the referral system and maintain appropriate documentation
o Provide close Technical support and consultation to the team members whenever necessary to the Maternal and child health, Nutrition, EPI, MHPSS and other services provided by the MHNT
o Giving direction, deliver tasks and assignments to the Team members and mange any gap which might occur due shortage of manpower
o Ensure that appropriate documentation is maintained by the team in the Outreach sites and reports are properly compiled, shared and documented
o Communicate with other partners and represent the MHNT/and CUAMM in the absence of the Nutrition expert
o Support and coordinate the Clinical Work in the Outreach sites, including the Health extension program activities.
o Conduct proper monitoring on the use of Pharmaceutical supplies in the outreach service delivery program and prepare and document supply use data and reports
o Build the capacity of the Health Staff, Midwifes, Nurses, Heath extension workers and other staffs working in the Outreach service delivery program activities.
o Facilitate the integration of the project activities with other activities implemented by CUAMM (within other projects), by other NGOs, the Woreda Health office and Programs of RHB.
o Ensure proper routine data collection
o Oversee and mentor HC & HP staffs on the implementation of activities through job trainings, review the prescription given to the patients together with the pharmacist.
o Carry out other responsibilities assigned by the immediate supervisor and the project Manager.
Skills and qualifications
- Must hold Bsc Degree in Public Health Officer with Valid professional practicing licence
- working experience of at least 3 years in clinical activity Extensive Knowledge and experience in primary health care system.
- Fluent in Somali language.
- Excellent proficiency in Amharic and English Language.
- Relevant experience on doing OPD Consultation, managing Emergency cases and facilitating the referrals
- Ability to prescribe medications for the patient in more efficient and effective way
- Relevant experience in performing clinical procedures (assisted delivery and others),
- Ability to performing rapid diagnostic procedures and others
- Fluent in speaking English and local languages is required
- Ability to write a report on weekly, monthly bases
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Office 2010, Excel, PowerPoint
- Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability
- Collaborative attitude with colleagues, work team and external partners
