POSITION DETAILS
Title WASH Officer (2 positions)

Location (Country & Base) Somalia, Galmudug and Kismayo with possible field missions in other project areas of operation
Contract duration 1 year renewable based on funding and performance
Starting date in-country November 2024

1. Program management
· Support the Project Manager to carry out proper and realistic planning of project activities.
· Generate monthly project activity reports presented to arche noVa Project Manager.
· Assist the Project Manager in developing required supporting documents (training reports, beneficiary training lists, beneficiary participation lists, vouchers etc) and, follow up with the contractors.
· Work closely with the Project Manager to track deadlines for the project's activity implementation and effective planning.
· Support the Project Manager in tracking project deadlines and providing and planning to ensure effective and timely achievement of the same.
2.Quality management and Impact orientation
· Support the Project Manager to ensure timely quality service delivery and outputs achievement.
· Support the Project Manager in ensuring all WASH facilities construction components meet required quality standards.
· Conduct field visit to project sites and direct supervision of work undertaken by contractors
· Support the Project Manager in ensuring the project schedule is being met, timely management and reviewing of any plan discrepancies or deviations.
· Undertake community mobilization and conduct hygiene promotion within the communities.
· Support the Project Manager in ensuring effective integration and mainstreaming of disability and gender aspects into the project.
3. Coordination and Communication
· Contribute to the timely preparation and submission of reports to arche noVa in coordination with the Project Manager.
· Maintain good working relationships with local authority, line ministries and constant engagement, consultations and dialogue with the communities working in the areas of project operations and implementation.
· Participate in coordination and Steering Committees meetings in arche noVa Nairobi office (physically or virtually).
· Participate in arche noVa monitoring missions in coordination with the Project Manager using appropriate tools and instruments to collect data and information from beneficiaries and other stakeholders.
· To support the Project Manager in the implementation of base line, Post distribution monitoring (PDM) and Endline evaluation of the project.
· Document case studies and collect successful/human stories and pictures regarding beneficiaries and share with arche noVa Project Manager.
· Any other duties as assigned by the Project Manager and or Program Officer/Coordinator.

REPORTING RESPONSIBILITIES
· Monthly activity reports for the project's activities to be shared with arche noVa Project Manager
· Assist in developing Project Interim and Final project reports in Coordination with Project Manager
· Monitoring mission reports including quality pictures, human interest stories, and case studies
Skills and qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
· University Degree in Project Management / Business Management/ International Relations/ or other relevant field.
· At least 3 years’ professional experience, with at least 2 years’ professional experience in a similar position.
· Clear understanding of Somalia's security context and operation dynamics (Somali Nationals Preferred)
· Knowledge of Peace, gender and inclusion is an added advantage.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL
· At least 3 years work experience within the sectors WASH, FSL, DRR in similar position in international humanitarian and/or transitional assistance contexts is key.
· Strong background in Humanitarian/Development programing and International Relations is required.
· Demonstrated depth of experience working with Somali communities and organizations, especially focusing on climate change and disaster risk Management Projects
· Extensive experience and recognized expertise in models and methods of training, facilitation and capacity building and Project Management
· Strong experience in German donor requirements, expectations and reporting skills
· Solid professional experiences in Somalia and or working in insecure / volatile environments
· Excellent communication capacities
· Excellent in English and Somali (written & oral)
· Willingness to travel frequently to field locations
· Flexibility, ability to work under pressure and capacity to meet tight deadlines
