Job Description:
Fayadhoor Orientation Organization (FOO), is Non-Governmental Organization founded in 2011 with the mandate to contribute to the mitigation of poverty, disease and hunger have offices in Mogadishu Somalia and Galmudug State.
FOO is looking for a motivated full-time Program Development Coordinator to strengthen business processes in resource mobilization and cooperation building. The Program Development Coordinator will undertake various activities including identifying donor trends, opportunities and lead in updating the annual fundraising strategy. S/he will facilitate structured donor engagement, identify funding opportunities, coordinate and write proposals and concept notes The position requires innovative thinking and creativity to package programme strategies in ways that attract the right donor support and grow our portfolio strategically and sustainably proactively initiate discussions with donors to provide updates on all current awards. S/he will be the expert in writing proposals to support the resource mobilization efforts in response to FOO Somalia operational priorities and programmatic solutions, laid out in resource mobilization Strategy 2024-2028.
Responsibilities
· Foster business relationships with external stakeholders and potential partners for large scale or strategic funding opportunities, as either a prime or sub-recipient in consortium arrangements.
· Organize and lead structured donor engagement donor focal points. Maintain and update donor contacts database, donor profiles.
· Represent the FOO Somalia office in relevant donor forums, workshops and conferences where new business development opportunities care formulated.
· Represent FOO as a generalist, alongside technical experts, in consortium meetings and design processes.
· Participate the development of the a comprehensive funding strategy operationalize with appropriate technical leads in a structured way
· Work with the senior management to develop generic concept notes for thematic areas and cross-sectoral integration. These concepts should reflect our ambitions and new creative thinking to achieve and support vulnerable households affected by current shocks including floods, drought and conflicts in Somalia.
· Identify, research, and disseminate information on new funding opportunities and business plans of bilateral, multi-lateral, and other institutional donors.
· Work with senior management to explore the potential for humanitarian partnerships, government partnerships and other innovative ways to fundraise
· Pro-actively seek local donor intelligence on prospective new opportunities or partnerships.
· Lead proposal development for high value building and ensuring the highest quality product.
· Serve as lead writer for key competitive proposals
· Represent FOO as a generalist, alongside technical experts, in consortium meetings regarding proposal development.
· Ensure that theory of change is addressed in all new proposals and that key elements of programme quality are included (e.g. community participation, good governance, gender, lessons learned from past proposals, accountability, risk assessments, sustainability and sustainable partnerships, etc.).
· Coordinate Value for Money calculations in proposal development, as required by donors.
Skills and qualifications
· Master’s or bachelor degree in business or public administration, Humanitarian/development, sustainable development, Communications, social sciences, or related area.
· Strong self-starter, able to take initiative.
· 3 years’ experience in both emergency and development contexts, preferably with solid experience in new business development
· Familiarity with requirements of key humanitarian donors and capacity to work in a multi-donor environment, including UN, international organizations, institutions, government line ministers and among others.
· Excellent coordination and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and negotiate clearly and effectively at all levels
· Excellent representation, presentation and communication skills.
· Experience in coordinating humanitarian context and development of large-scale or strategic proposals, including the development projects.
· Strong results orientation, with the ability to challenge existing mindsets.
· Experience of solving complex issues through analysis, definition of a clear way forward and ensuring buy in.
· Ability to present complex information in a succinct and compelling manner.
· Ability and willingness to dramatically change work practices and hours in the event of emergencies.
· Proven ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines and work with limited supervision.
· Proven ability to manage large varied workloads and deal constructively with stress and periods with long hours.
· Fluency in English, both verbal and written.
