Position: Electrical Engineer – Solar Energy Systems
Organization: Goodlight Energy Ltd
Location: Somalia (with travel to project sites)
Type: Full-Time
Duration: 12 months (with possible extension)

2. Purpose of the Role
We are hiring a skilled Electrical Engineer with solar energy experience to lead the design, planning, and execution of our solar projects. The engineer will manage a technical team, interact with clients, and ensure all systems meet quality, safety, and performance standards.
3. Key Responsibilities
Lead the design of solar PV systems (off-grid, hybrid, or grid-tied).
Conduct site visits, load analysis, and system sizing.
Meet clients to assess their energy needs and recommend appropriate solar solutions.
Create technical drawings, system layouts, and single-line diagrams.
Use software tools like AutoCAD, PVsyst, or Helioscope for system simulations.
Supervise installations, testing, and commissioning.
Prepare technical reports, BOQs, and project documentation.
Train and guide technicians.
Ensure compliance with safety and international electrical standards (IEC, NEC).
Support maintenance and after-sales service.
Skills and qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (Master’s preferred).
Minimum 2 years of experience in solar PV systems.
Strong knowledge of battery systems, inverters, and protection devices.
Proficient in design tools (AutoCAD, PVsyst, etc.).
Excellent leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.
Ability to explain technical solutions clearly to clients.
Willingness to travel and work in remote locations.
Certifications in solar energy are an asset.
5. Reporting Line
Reports directly to the Chief Technical Officer (CTO), and works closely with the project and installation teams.
6. Contract & Benefits
