Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) is devoted to defeat hunger by working towards the alleviation of poverty and strengthening of livelihoods and food security, improvement of health and water and sanitation. The aim of QRC’s emergency and rehabilitation interventions in Somalia is to address immediate life saving measures and as well to restore productive capacities of the farmers in shortest timeframe possible. To fill gap between short-term responses and long-term needs, the interventions proposed by QRC-Somalia are designed to restore/improve the productive capacities/assets of the disaster affected people through inputs and rehabilitation of agriculture productive infrastructures, provision of improved agriculture and as well community health service centers.
QRC Somalia implemented many projects in food security, nutrition, water and sanitation and improvement of health care and access. QRC’s activities in Somalia include the agriculture mechanization(farmland preparation); rehabilitation of the collapsed irrigation infrastructures; training of small scaled farmers on improved agronomic practices, improving of sanitation and hygienic situation in the disaster affected communities through construction of pit latrines and drilling of water shallow wells at rural areas; improving the primary and secondary health services through the opening of OPD centers and clinic centers and capacitating of health workers etc.
However, the strategy of QRC-Somalia toward the recovery and rehabilitation interventions is based on ways to increase resilience to the future hazards through longer-term interventions that facilitate the transition from relief to development.
Overall purpose of the role:
The primary objective is to get qualified enumerators to support tasks, assessments, surveys, and routine data collection activities required by QRCS in Hirshabelle, Southwest, Jubaland and Puntland states on NEED basis. The main tasks that enumerators will be responsible are the data collection of all assessments, including rapid needs assessment, research, PDMs, KAP surveys, Baseline surveys, Mid-Term Reviews and Final evaluations. Hence, QRCS will hire experienced local data collectors to undertake both quantitative and qualitative data collection with highest quality measures. The position will be based in designated field offices; Hirshabelle, Southwest, Jubaland and Puntland states.
Responsibilities:
·Participate in trainings to familiarize with tools before actual field data collection.
·Collect data using structured interviews with the sampled respondents using pre-developed questionnaires for the Health, WASH, and FSL sectors.
·To capture data from target groups and input into digital platforms using mobile phones.
·To ensure accuracy and completeness of information that is gathered and recorded through the survey process.
·Take direction from and report to assigned supervisor by QRCS.
·Act in a professional and honest manner and serve as example to fellow enumerators.
·Collect and record data on routine activities and share with Supervisor.
·Participate in gathering of data during needs assessments, baseline survey and other assessments.
·Act as a link between the community leaders, the community, and other stakeholders in the area.
·Enumerators will conduct beneficiary registration and data entry and ensure quality of data entry and contribute to the distribution of hygiene kits/humanitarian packages to beneficiaries.
·Participate in conducting Household surveys, Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), and Key Informant Interviews (KIIs); translate them into English/Somali as required.
·Mobilize the community to participate in the projects and encourage all groups to participate.
·Be a good steward by ensuring that project materials and resources are used effectively.
·Ensure that cross cutting issues such as protection, gender, and environment are addressed and mainstreamed in the project
·Perform other duties related to field data collection as may be assigned by QRCS program and MEAL teams.

Experience, Education, and technical competencies: (include years of experience)
·Minimum of 1 years working experience with humanitarian international NGOs on data management.
·Minimum secondary level education certificate, and/or Diploma in Statistics, social science, economics or computer application or any other related field.
·Prior experience in interviewing and facilitating FDGs (Focus Group Discussions) and in-depth interviews exemplary positive behaviors for consistency, predictability, and reliability at work to complete assignments and meet deadlines.
·Minimum of 1-year field experience in designated geographical area on the same field. ·Computer literate and able to use Microsoft Office packages (i.e. Word and Excel)/Data collection tools like KOBO.
·Familiar with local context and cultural sensitivity in designated geographical area.
·Proven ability to function well in an unstable and restricted environment.
·Has effective communication skills (oral and written) and able to interview beneficiaries at different levels.
·Ability to work independently as well as an effective team player.
