Position: Project Coordinator
ActionAid International Somalia (AAIS) is looking for a committed and inspirational Project Coordinator who combines passion for social justice with proven experience in quality delivery of protection programming with focus community led protection.
The Role:
The Project Coordinator will be supervised by the Area Manager. The Project Coordinator will provide day-to-day management and implementation of the project activities ensuring that the planning, implementation and monitoring aligns with project targets and milestones. The Project Coordinator will maintain a strong interface with project partners, communities and relevant stakeholders. He/She will effectively supervise guide and coach any project staff.
Skills and qualifications
Qualification & Experience
Education, experience & technical competencies.
1. University degree in Community Development, Disaster Risk Management, Social Sciences or any relevant field or other relevant fields from a recognized institution.
2. Minimum 3 years’ relevant work experience in people-centered development programme and working with NGOs
3. Experience working in areas with conflict and exposure to long term recurrent natural disasters
4. Familiarity with the context of the Country/State/district as it affects projects
5. Knowledge of project management cycle
6. Skills in community development
7. Knowledge of MS Office suites
8. Effective time management, conflict management and negotiation skills
9. Risk orientation skills
10. Capacity building and training skills
11. Proficiency in English and Somali (both written and spoken)
12. Fundraising, advocacy, campaigning and lobbying skills
13. Ability to work effectively in a cross-cultural setting as well as conflict sensitive and child sensitive programming
14. Strong leadership and coordination skills
15. Knowledge of Human Rights Based Approach (HRBA)
16. Knowledge of Feminist Leadership Principles & Practices
17. Certificate/Degree in Project Management from a recognised institution (added advantage)
