About MUDRO:
Mustaqbal Development and Relief Organization: - Created in 2009, MUDRO is a local non-governmental organization pursuing a dual mandate of emergency response and development interventions in Somalia to serving the most vulnerable communities affected by conflicts, disasters, or socio-economic hardship. We strive to ensure that our activities are conflict sensitive and do not harm affected communities and their environment, presently or in the future. MUDRO’s capacity and experience allows us to deliver fast and effective assistance whenever an emergency happens across. MUDRO has prioritized accountability to affected persons (AAP) principles in the design of project activities, taking into account the specific needs and roles of women, girls, boys and men, to ensure meaningful participation, dignified access and representation of and accountability to each of these groups. MUDRO is helping minimize risks for vulnerable groups including women and girls and advocating for equal, safe and dignified access to assistance.
Purpose of the position.
The Program Manager will be expected to work under the day-to-day leadership and supervision of MUDRO WASH/FSL Projects and will be administratively responsible to the Head of Programs to support the implementation, Reporting and monitor all the wash activities, functions, and accountability to affected populations.
MAIN OBJECTIVES (key performance areas)
To ensure timely and smooth implementation of Projects(s) in line with donor requirements and MUDRO procedures and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for Project documentation storage
Support HoP project development and design, including identifying new donors and partners.
Responsible for preparing and conducting internal project related trainings.
Responsible for delivering annual, monthly, and weekly project reports.
Responsible for representing MUDRO in project related external contacts.
Support the HoP in cooperation with the external auditors and controlling institutions. Responsible for cooperation and consultation with Project related external entities regarding the substantive materials.
Responsible for managing the flow of project related information.
Responsible for Project Related Cost analysis
Oversees regular preparation of project - based purchase plan.
With support from Finance and Logistics Manager, establish the project budget/
participate in the general budget.
Manages Field Project officers.
Responsible for Project management
Responsible for Financial control of the project, with support of HoP and Finance and Logistic Manager.
Project closure, with support of HoP
Preparing strategic and operational plans and programs with support of the HoP Conducting the promotion actions of the project
Supporting the department in the work process Conducting other tasks delegated by the supervisor.
Management Tasks
Managing the project
Support in recruiting new employees to the project.
Conducting periodic appraisal interviews for project staff
Commissioning tasks to the employees of the project
Developing project employees' competencies
Motivating project employees and volunteers
Managing the project budget, with support of HoP and Finance and Logistic Manager
Supervising the implementation of the project tasks Preparing the annual plans with support of the HoP share information about project progress with MEAL unit.
update performance tracking tools and lead quarterly PRMs, with support of the HoP.
Skills and qualifications
COMPETENCES/Education required.
- Bachelor’s degree in areas such as public Health, Public administration, Project Management, business administration.
- Minimum 4 years of work experience with similar responsibilities
Specific qualifications
Strong leadership and coordination skills.
Considerable relevant field experience in WASH/FSL projects in humanitarian and development programs preferable with non-governmental organizations and in more than one region.
Experience and/or understanding of WASH/FSL related issues in humanitarian and development context.
Experience in management and capacity building of teams in complex contexts. Proven record of training/skills development of individuals and teams, including partner organizations.
Proven ability to analyze complex humanitarian and recovery contexts at local and national level, monitor changes and translate into appropriate strategic planning.
Good assessment, analytical, monitoring and evaluating and planning skills and project management skills to enable program delivery.
Ability to consolidate and triangulate information received from various sources. Good communication skills
Working experience in Southcentral Somalia is preferred.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Required (number of years):
3 years in a given sector as a Project Coordinator or a Project Manager
4 years of work experience work with NGOs
Experience managing projects.
Experience in managing full project cycles of budgets over 800,000 EUR Strong in MS Office, Ms Word and Excel
Ease at using online based platforms and applications.
Strong planning and organizational skills
