Job Title: Programme policy officer ( Nutrition ) 2 positions.

Contract Type/Grade: SC8,

Contract Duration: 6 months - Renewable.

       Lead on the overall coordination of the nutrition response across the Area Offices, including hard to reach and newly liberated areas.

       Contribute to the development of nutrition projects and activities, plans and processes ensuring alignment with wider nutrition policies and guidance.

       Provide support to the management of nutrition response, ensuring a coordinated approach with the wider programmes/ ac-tivities that complies with WFP standards and procedures.

       Coordinate WFP-related reporting (including weekly ad hoc reports and ONA-MODA submissions) by tracking and analyzing data for input into reporting tools (ONA-MODA, COMET), and contribute to accurate, timely reports on nutrition activities to inform decision-making and ensure consistent information for stakeholders.

       Engage with UNICEF, Ministry of Health and the subnational nutrition cluster to map out the nutrition needs, coverage gaps and possible assistance packages.

       Provide technical and strategic inputs to the sub-national nutrition cluster.

       Liaise with Cooperating partners through regular meetings and site visits to monitor ongoing activities for effective collaboration, timeliness, and efficiency, and highlight potential gaps and risks to programme delivery.

       Support the identification of potential partners and partnership negotiations to ensure a collaborative and holistic approach to meeting nutrition needs.

       Support in the implementation of the joint UNICEF- WFP micro plans to improve the coordination and integration of acute mal-nutrition treatment programmes improving coverage, outreach, effectiveness, and programme quality.

       Support the coordination of nutrition pipeline management, including NFIs and nutrition Commodities in close coordination with the Programme and Logistics Unit.

       Support the capacity strengthening of WFP partners, staff, and state and regional government line ministries of health to prepare for and respond to nutrition needs, including review of training materials and production of appropriate tools and products

       Conduct field visits to enhance programme quality and implementation.

       Support and enhance the use of SCOPE for nutrition by ensuring timely SCOPE registration by partners.

       Support the identification of potential partners and partnership negotiations to ensure a collaborative and holistic approach to meeting nutrition needs.

Skills and qualifications

Education: Advanced University Degree in Nutrition and/ Public Health, Food systems and transformation, social sciences OR University degree with additional years of relevant work experience and/or training/courses.

Experience: At least one (1) year of relevant experience with Advanced University Degree OR first University Degree with a minimum of two (2) or more years of experience in nutrition related programmes implementation, public health/ food security/ nutrition related activities preferably in humanitarian context, with international NGOs, United Nations System, or with the governmental institutions demonstrated leadership role in terms of emergency nutrition coordination.

Languages: Fluency (level C) in English language and Somali Language.

Knowledge & Skills:

       Solid knowledge of nutrition needs assessment in crisis, and prevention of malnutrition in emergency contexts.

       Skilled in data analysis for nutrition interventions and experience in drafting clear M&E reports.

       Detail-oriented with strong data accuracy with an effective in stakeholder communication.

       Proficient in Excel, SMART, ENA, and Kobo Toolbox
