Job Title: Accounting Officer

Location: Hargeisa (Main Office)/ Berbera Economic Zone
Reporting to: General Manager
Introduction: Following a departmental restructuring, Himalaya Logistics is looking for a
high-caliber Head of Accounting. This is not just a bookkeeping role; we need a financial
leader who can integrate with our ERP system and coordinate closely with our Operations team
in Berbera to ensure 100% financial accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
● Financial Control: Oversee all financial transactions, including daily cash flow and bank
management.
● Cost-Benefit Integration: Audit and verify all Payment Requisition Vouchers from
Operations against the Commercial Quotations to ensure profit margins are maintained.
● ERP Leadership: Take full ownership of the Serates ERP financial module—ensuring
every shipment has a corresponding invoice and cost entry.
● Reporting: Deliver daily liquidity reports and weekly shipment-by-shipment profitability
analysis to the GM.
● Payroll & Tax: Manage company payroll and ensure full compliance with Somaliland tax
regulations and duty-free exemptions.

SECTION 3: BASIC NEEDS FOR THE CANDIDATE
To ensure we don't repeat the challenges of the past, the ideal candidate must meet these
4 Basic Needs:
1. ERP Proficiency: The candidate must have proven experience working with ERP systems.
They should be comfortable managing data across different modules (Operations +
Finance).
2. Logistics Industry Knowledge: They must understand the "Logistics Language"—Port
charges, Shipping Line fees, DO charges, and Transport tariffs.
3. Proactive Communication: Since the GM and Commercial manager are in Hargeisa
while Operations is in Berbera, the accountant must be a "bridge," constantly
communicating to ensure no cost is missed.
4. Integrity & Authority: We need someone with the backbone to say "No" to a payment
request if it doesn't have the correct PRV (Voucher) or documentation.
