TOR – Female Internship Programme

The Information Management Centre (IMC), Somaliland is established towards the various activities related to land and water resources data and information aimed to assist the decision-making process of stakeholders. The IMC receives technical support from FAO SWALIM funded by the European Union under CadRe Project.

The IMC announces an internship programme that aims to empower young women within water and land resources thematic sector and to enhance their confidence, knowledge, skills and to contribute in building their careers. The selected interns will have opportunity to work with experienced and skilled professional staff at IMC, SWALIM/FAO, and affiliated line-ministries.

The female interns will be recruited competitively based on the following criteria:

§  Must be female Somalilanders

§  Must have graduated recently, not earlier than 2019

§  Must be 30 years of age or less

§  Graduates of any of the following thematic subjects:

ü  Geographic Information Systems / Remote Sensing

ü  Information management

ü  Land resources management

ü  Water resources management, or

ü  Any other subjects related to environmental & natural resources studies

§  Working knowledge of English language, and mother tongue Somali language  

§  Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism

§  Willing to accomplish the programme for the entire period (six months minimum)

§  Willing to work in the field for data collection and surveys

§  Willing to return and serve within Somaliland land & water Resources institutions
