MSF Sool Project is looking for:

Main Purpose:

Performing autonomously, specific complex / advanced installation, maintenance works and repairs depending on technician’s specialization (requiring special/qualifications/training), according to supervisor’s instructions and MSF standards and procedures, in order to ensure a proper functioning and maintenance of MSF equipment, installations and infrastructures.

Accountabilities

  • Performing autonomously, all necessary complex / advanced installations, maintenance and repairs (i.e. requiring special qualifications/training), according to the supervisor’s instructions and executes any needed tests after any repair or maintenance. Including the following functions:
  • Qualified Electrician
  • Qualified Mechanic
  • Biomed Technician
  • Making suggestions regarding any repair or maintenance work needed in MSF electrical installations, equipment and/or vehicles and assisting logistics department for any relative work needed.
  • Managing the stock of consumable items, filling in the stock cards, carrying out physical stock inventories, executing orders necessary for renewing stock, avoiding any shortage.
  • Responsible for the equipment and tools, including extinguishers, checking they are correctly and safely used, maintaining and renewing them when necessary and keeping the inventory updated.
  • Keeping working area clean and tidy.
  • Ensuring that all record sheets and books related to logistical maintenance are always completed. Preparing needed

reports            before            and             after             any             repair             or             required             maintenance.

  • Immediately informing the line manager of any problems that arise in the course of the work, particularly with regard to damage, loss, theft or attempted break-ins
  • Working in collaboration with other specialised technicians and workers, if necessary, or managing a small team of

MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities

Electrical:

  • Fill the generator tracking sheets (On/ Off) timing and ensure consistency and clarity.
  • Take the lead on generator usage and control the usage and swaping time.
  • Check the electrical system/ structure around the hospital and MSF compound and conducted preventive and corrective measures
  • Conduct regular AC and Cold-Chain maintenance activities.
  • Carrying out and updating the electrical installations inventory in MSF missions’ facilities and performing annual maintenance procedures and safety checks across facilities in the project. Executing any needed tests after any repair or maintenance.

Mechanic:

  • Conduct generator services on timely manner according to services (A,B & C).
  • Refill generator fuel and update stock card and tracking sheets.
  • Regular check-up of generators and plan maintenance and repair according to the given protocols.
  • Maintenance of the MSF vehicles when required

WATSAN:

  • Support the WATSAN technician on the logistical aspects of watsan activities
  • Act as gap-filler when the WATSAN tecnician is not present.
  • Plan and excute the logistical activities of WATSAN needs (construction and repair of structures and equipments)

Bio-Med:

  • Maintenanc of the Bio-Med equipments as advised by the bio-med specialist
  • Update the follow-up and tracking sheets for Bio-Med equipments and report
  • Report stock level and alert the requirement of minimum stock.
  • Reporting any issues or problems on biomed equipment to his/her supervisor and proposing solutions
  • Organizing and participating in the installation of biomedical equipment

Construction:

  • Responsible for the repair and maintenance of the compounds in terms of construction activities
  • Estimate, design and report the needs and services required to logistics manager
  • Follow up with contractors and ensure high quality and quantity of the construction works done.

General:

  • Managing the stock of consumable items related to electrical, mechanic, bio-med and installation, repairs and maintenance, filling in the stock cards, carrying out physical stock inventories, executing orders necessary for renewing stock, avoiding any shortage
  • Keeping working area clean and tidy.
  • Ensuring that all record sheets and books related to maintenance are always completed and prepares needed reports before and after any repair or required maintenance.
  • Managing the MSF compound (office and residence) in Kalabydh and taking care of repair and maintenance works.
  • Managing the watchmen, cleaner and cook at MSF compound in Kalabydhy.
  • Support logistics/ Supply team in Logistics and Medical stock management.
  • Support the seconded Base Officer at Kalabydh Hospital to carry on his/ her duties according to the required standards.
  • Any other duty as assigned by the supervisor/ logistics manager
