MOWD/UNICEF DRILLING OF ONE EXPLORATORY BOREHOLE IN ODWEINE DISTRICT, DADMADHEEDH REGION, SOMALILAND

The Ministry of Water Development (MoWD) of Somaliland, with technical and financial support from UNICEF, is implementing Drilling of one Exploratory Borehole in Odweine district Dadmadheedh region of Somaliland. These interventions, funded through the UNICEF WASH Programme, will be carried out in Exploratory Borehole in Odweine.

MoWRD hereby invites pre-qualified construction companies to submit bids for the aforementioned works. Interested and eligible companies must provide the following documentation:

Required Documents

  • A valid certified copy of the company’s Registration/Legal document in Somaliland.
  • A certified copy of a valid Tax Compliance Certificate or Exemption Certificate.
  • A current single business permit issued by the country of firm registration, or any other valid single business permit in Somaliland.
  • Proven experience in providing similar services to International Organizations and/or Commercial Companies, including work in remote project locations.
  • A comprehensive company profile, including a list of major clients and similar projects completed within the last three years, along with project costs.
  • Drilling rig capacity: The bidder must be equipped with both percussion and rotary drilling rigs capable of reaching a depth of 500 meters up to…..
  • A Bid Bond equivalent to 2% of the quoted amount, in the form of a Bank Guarantee.
  • A list of available drilling equipment.
  • The current location of all listed equipment.
  • Detailed profiles of a Qualified Hydrogeologist and Master Drillers, including qualifications, work experience, and updated CVs.
  • Audited financial reports for the fiscal years 2024–2025.
  • Financial statements for the years 2024–2025.

Submission Guidelines

All bid submissions must be addressed to the Office of the Director General, Ministry of Water Development, in a sealed envelope clearly marked:

“Expression of Interest – UNICEF Drilling of one Exploratory Borehole in Odweine district Togdher region of Somaliland)”

Submissions must be delivered no later than 1:00 PM (Somaliland local time) on 19th July 2026. The tender opening will take place on 20th July 2026 at the Ministry’s main hall at 2:00pm.

Note: Late submissions will not be considered under any circumstances.
