Tender Notice for Construction of Check Dam in Dabagunbur Valley and Rehabilitation of Outlet Channel of Xidhxidh Dam under Odwayne District in Togdheer Region.
Agricultural Development Organization – ADO is a local, non-governmental, non-profit seeking organization established in 1993 that endeavors to promote agricultural sector, water accessibility, farmers’ capacity and environmental protection and conservation in order to empower and improve livelihood conditions of the poor agro-pastoral community in Somaliland through rights-based approach. ADO values development-oriented programs to ensure sustainability of institutions and interventions for poverty eradication especially those targeting vulnerable and marginalized groups in Somaliland
Building Local Resilience for Adaptation to Climate Change-BRAC project is a long-term project (2021-2025) that funded by Development Fund of Norway and implementing by Agricultural Development Organization-ADO. The project aims to increase climate resilience and well-being of rural communities of Gatiitaley, Xidhxidh and Dabagunbur villages under Odwayne district. BRAC project targets vulnerable rural households those have been categorized in to smallholder farmers, pastoralists, and women headed households, and child headed households, youth, elders and disabled and marginalized groups and women business group. In immediate term, the project expects to reach these outputs; improve of nutrition and care practices of rural households, increase of crop diversity for smallholder farmers and food production and enhancement the access to sustainably natural resource management. Rural youth, women and marginalized groups will be improved and also the project will increase the capacity of grassroots organizations to advocate for good government services and legal frameworks.
Land degradation is one the climatic hazards that devastates the agricultural and rangelands in Somaliland and it increases continuously due to the following factors
- The high dependence on livestock for livelihoods leads to overgrazing, which diminishes vegetation cover and exacerbates soil erosion.
- The deforestation activities for fuelwood and unsustainable agricultural practices contributes to soil degradation and reduces the land's ability to retain moisture.
The land degradation is a challenge to Food Security as the decreasing agricultural productivity which can exacerbate malnutrition and economic instability. Biodiversity Loss is another impact of land degradation as it disrupts local plant and animal species ecosystems and diminishing biodiversity.
Moreover, farming communities in Dabagunbur village has been suffering gully formation in their agricultural lands which diverted irrigation water from the cultivating and pasture lands. In responding to that, ADO has planned to construct a check dam control water follow in the formed gully and distribute irrigation water to the surrounding areas.
Therefore, ADO is inviting Somaliland registered contractors to participate in these flowing Construction bid.

Updated Company Bank Statements for last 6 Months
Updated Company profile with full address, organizational chart, contact information, important employees'
Work plan /lead time
Relevant experience in similar works provision including supporting documents, similar works (LPO/Contracts, certificates and recommendations letters etc)
All bids should be written in English
The supplier should have capacity to make pre finance.

Working hours between 8:00am to 3:00pm (Sunday to Thursday).
Tender closing date isApril 29nd, 2025 at 2:00 pm East Africa Time.
All completed tender should be summited in sealed envelope to be bring Hargeisa office, the envelope should indicate the tittle of tender notice, but have no other details related to the bid.
