1. BACKGROUND OF THE ORGANIZATION

Himilo organization for development (HOD) is a humanitarian, non-profit, non-sectarian, relief and development organization that was established and registered in 2010 in Mogadishu in response to the humanitarian crisis and conflicts in Somalia.

The organization is engaged in humanitarian environment and participatory development and sustainability in Somalia. Whether responding to disaster and emergencies, promoting sustainable economic and social development, strengthening the well-being of people specially woman, children, senior citizens, providing training or building infrastructure. Our top priority is to create an environment that is conductive to sustainable development by helping communities securing peace and attaining sustainable development and self-reliance.

HOD’s objectives are pursued through a multidisciplinary and integrated approach that prioritizes awareness raising, information and knowledge sharing, capacity building and program and project delivery according to local needs and existing potentialities while enhancing synergistic approach among the various development works that may be taking place in a given area or community.

1. OBJECTIVES OF THE ORGANIZATION

HOD objective is to create an environment that is conductive to sustainable development by helping communities securing peace and attaining sustainable development and self-reliance.

1. REPORTING

The service provider/supplier and the contractor shall report to the concerned logistics Unit/Project Manager and Operation manager of himilo organization for Development (HOD)

1. TIMING AND DURATION

 Pre-qualified Service providers will ONLY be contacted and requested each assignment for RFQ. The detailed Terms of Reference (TOR) for the assignment can be provided upon submission of RFQ (in person or by e-mail ([email protected]).

HOD now invites interested and eligible service providers to express their interest in providing the Services. Interested and qualified services providers should submit their expression by providing information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services requested. Only short listed and pre-qualified companies and consultants will be communicated. The shortlisting and prequalification criteria are as follows:

1. Core business of the company/firm and years in business.
2. Specific experience in successfully implementing similar assignments (developing communication strategies and implementation plans)
3. Experience of relevant services in an environment similar to where HOD operates (Puntland and South-Central Somalia)
4. Technical and managerial organization of the firm (provide only the structure of the company, general qualification and number of key staff). Do not provide CVs of key staff. Key experts will not be evaluated at the shortlisting stage.

The interested applicants may apply the below different services and MUST quote each lot Code in which it is applying.

Interested Services providers may submit their EOI to HOD’s Head Office in Mogadishu Procurement and Logistics Unit by e-mail ([email protected]).

Service providers will be selected in accordance with the Qualification Selection Criteria.

Special Procurement Conditions and Additional Information

This call for Expression of Interest does not constitute a solicitation. We do not require bids or proposals at this stage; we merely seek your expression of interest in participating in a future tender.

HOD reserves the right to change or cancel the requirement at any time during the EOI and/or solicitation stage. HOD also reserves the right to require compliance with additional conditions as and when issuing the final solicitation documents.

Submitting a reply to a call for EOI does not automatically guarantee receipt of the solicitation documents when issued. Invitations to bid or Requests for Proposals and any subsequent purchase order or contract will be issued in accordance with the rules and procedures of HOD.
