About TAAKULO

Taakulo Somali Community “TAAKULO”. TAAKULO is a multifaceted non-governmental, non-profit making, non-political and nonpartisan development and humanitarian aid organization established in 2007 and headquartered in Hargeisa, Somaliland, and have regional offices throughout Somaliland, Somalia, and Somali region of Ethiopia. TAAKULO is dedicated to assisting the disadvantaged people and communities throughout Somalia and Somaliland by engaging in the development and related activities and providing emergency relief assistance, resilience building, facilitating, and promoting local community engagement and programs that emphasizes self-reliance with dignity.

TAAKULO was established to assist the vulnerable people, to whom time has tested their resilience to the tipping point, drought and famine scavenging their livelihood, war and conflict avenging their economy on the other hand. Projects are basically based on the needs of the communities in which they are implemented where the beneficiaries always take part in the planning process.

About the project

Project name: Cross Border Protection Support in Somali region of Ethiopia and Somaliland (SOM100020)

Bid location: Hargeisa Somaliland, TAAKULO’ Office

Distribution sites: Bali cabane, Allay baday, and Faraweyne villages

TAAKULO and Plan International are implementing a 12-month project aiming to strengthen child protection and response to gender-based violence (GBV) of the displaced and affected population in three villages alongside the border between Ethiopia and Somaliland. The project focuses on people displaced by droughts and crossing the border in search of survival opportunities. The project is financially supported by AECID through Plan International’s Spanish National Office (SPNO). Project main components are provision of unconditional cash, training of community-based volunteers in SGBV prevention and response, distribution emergency kits for children, service mapping, information dissemination and distribution of dignity kits to women and girls. With these interventions, the following the key results the project aims to realize;

Result 1: Girls, adolescents and women in vulnerable situations have met basic humanitarian needs and mitigated immediate protection risks

Result 2: Women, adolescents and girls displaced by drought and host communities have received support to access services and measures to mitigate SGBV risks

Result 3: Child population displaced by drought and from host communities have accessed inclusive and quality protection services

Therefore, TAAKULO is calling for all interested and eligible suppliers/contractors with sound capacity and relevant experience in similar work are here by invited to fill submit the below quotation in TAAKULO Office anytime between Sunday to Thursday, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm withing or before the deadline of the advert.

Activity description: Procurement and transportation of dignity kits and solar torches

Total amount required: 2400 dignity kits and 600 solar torches

How to apply

Instructions for submission and additional consideration.

All suppliers/contractors with necessary experience and capacity are requested submit their quotations based on the items specified in the above bill of quantity in TAAKULO Head Office behind Ilays Secondary School in Buurta-kala jeexan. A sealed envelope should be dropped in the tender box in the office. The quotations should be submitted in United States of America dollars. All items should match items quoted and must be new.

The deadline for submitting bid is Sunday, 2nd July 2023 (4:00PM), and any bid document received later than submission deadline will not be accepted. The sealed envelope should be dropped in the tender box in Taakulo main office, in Buurta-kala jeexan, behind Ilays Secondary School.

Requirements of tender documents.

  1. Stamped and signed quotation with the company letter head.
  2. Company profile

III.Bank statement; for the last 6 months.

  1. A valid company license from ministry of commerce (Any outdated license will not be accepted.
  2. Updated tax clearance certificates and documents

VI. Certificate of experience. (Evidence showing relevant past experience or past contracts from other partners/organizations).

VII. Envelope should be sealed with bid reference number and company stamped.
