Action Against Hunger is a non-profit humanitarian organization implementing relief, emergency and development programs in different parts of Ethiopia since 1985. Action Against Hunger has been registered as a Foreign Charity with the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Charities and Societies Agency under registration no. 0032. Action Against Hunger is implementing a Solar powered irrigation System Project funded by GIZ to strengthen rural value chain of onion production in Adadle woreda of Shebelle zone, Somali Region.

Herewith, Action Against Hunger is looking for competitive and experienced consultant to participate in the tender to prepare standardized and step by step training and operational manual on Vegetables and fruits Production and Management in Somali region, Sheballe Zone specifically to be used by small holder farmers that are already established by Action Against Hunger in Adadle woreda, Debafyad Kebele. The Project is finance by GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit) under the project called “Strengthening Rural Value Chain to support small holder farmer community in the Somali Region”

Summary of the Work

The main objective of this consultancy is to prepare Standardized step by step guideline training manual for major selected fruit and vegetable crops namely Banana, papaya, onion, tomato and pepper that consider existing community experience, farmland and soil type to be used by government extension agents, senior experts and all interested to train farmers engaged on Fruits and Vegetable production and provide technical assistance to all engaged stakeholders in the region. The manual will be prepared in English language and will be translated to Somali Language. The overall content for each of the selected fruits (banana and papaya) and vegetables (onion, tomato and pepper) will separately include but not limited to the following bullet points. The manual should include among other things topics like Pre - cultivation preparation, crop establishment and management, land preparation, seedling raising and management, water sue, pest and disease management, Post harvest handling, costs and marketing issues.

Therefore, Action Against Hunger requests invites all interested, experienced and qualified and interested consultants to submit their company profile with the final /price offer according to the document prepared for the bid that contain at least the below listed mandatory documents:

• Completed bid must be in a sealed envelope clearly marked by ‘Bidders name, Address, legal stamps and signature

• Applicants shall submit their sealed bid documents that contain company profile, Administrative, technical and financial proposals to Action Against Hunger address mentioned above on or before Nov. 13, 2024.

• No need to submit CPO or other related financial documents
