About the Project:
This project aims to improve access to safe and reliable water for vulnerable communities in the Hiraan and Middle Shabele Regions, Somalia. through the construction of shallow community wells. Many households in the area face chronic water shortages, relying on distant or unsafe sources that expose them to health risks and limit time for productive activities. By establishing strategically located shallow wells, the project will provide clean water closer to homes, reduce the burden on women and children who often fetch water, and enhance community resilience to drought. The wells will be community-managed to ensure
sustainability, improve hygiene practices, and support livelihoods such as small-scale farming and livestock rearing.
