Invitation To Bid (ITB) For Rehabilitation of two shallow wells, one gulls 250 meters of water canal rehabilitations in Beer and Midhihso at villages under Burao and Erigavo District.

About ADO
The Agricultural Development Organization - ADO - was established in 1993 and had worked throughout the Somaliland regions, implementing emergency, recovery, and long-term rural development projects, including agriculture, environment, and climate change adaptation, resilient livelihood building for the poor agro-pastoralists, watershed, and irrigation management, nutrition, community innovations, and entrepreneurship support. Besides, the ADO had empowered rural women through the needs-based small business projects and Self-Help-Group initiatives. Working directly with community associations, the ADO had supported more than 776,000 households, including IDPs, returnees, farmers, and women living throughout the Somaliland regions.
The ADO has its Head Office in Hargeisa with the regional branch offices in Burao, Borama, and Erigavo of Togdheer, Awdal, and Sanaag regions. Besides, the ADO is currently expanding its programs and presence in the Somali Ethiopia Region, South-central, and Southern Somalia. ADO is an active member of the main local umbrella groups, namely, NAGAAD, SOLPAF, and SONSEF. As well as the ADO has strong networks with academic institutions in Europe and Africa and collaborates with diverse institutions in the development and agriculture research sectors. The partners of the ADO include but are not limited to the European Union, UNHCR, UNDP, WFP, UNEP, Oxfam, Care International, ISF Finland, NDF Norway, NORAD, UK AID, WHH Germany, Somaliland Development Fund (SDF), KNH Germany, and LUKE of Natural Resource Institute of Finland.
However, the ADO will implement the Darwin Initiative project, which is a long-term project (2022_2027) funded by the Darwin Initiative Institute through the Development Fund of Norway (DF), where the Agricultural Development Organization (ADO) has the ground implementation. The main goal is to improve seed, food and livelihood security of Agri-pastoralist households in Somaliland. The Project will build resilience in three communities through improved access to quality seeds, improved soil and water management, increased awareness of farmers' rights, and increased capacity for the sustainable use and management of plant genetic resources for food and agriculture among community members and government officials/institutions, and promotion of policies.
ADO will rehabilitate of two shallow wells; one gulls and 250 meters of water canal rehabilitations in Beer and Midhihso villages that improve farm productivity and profitability through better irrigation infrastructure and help farmers adapt to climate change's negative effects and mitigate climate change effects which resulted water shortage. The only water source available for horticultural crop production is shallow wells from stream waters. Such practices are common in the wadis by the local farmers who own land. As a result, ADO invited local bidders in Somaliland rehabilitate of two shallow wells, one gulls and 250 meters of water canal rehabilitations in Beer and Midhihso villages.
The objectives for the two shallow wells, one gulls and 250 meters of water canal rehabilitations in Beer and Midhihso villages. Are given below:
- Supporting them through the introduction of innovative technology and approaches that focus on the development and rehabilitation of shallow wells for horticulture production, located in the wadis of the village.
- Promote better irrigation of water canals and utilization of destruction canals in order to produce a better yield.
- Improved storage is reached on farms by promoting construction water points.
Therefore, ADO is inviting Somaliland registered contractors to participate in these flowing Construction

c) Previous construction experience, Provide past signed and stamped contracts as evidence.
d) Financial capacity: Provide an updated bank statement for last six months
e) Work-plan.

Interested companies are advised to collect a complete set of bid documents and instructions from ADO’s HQ Office a Near young Muslim Academy or Sha’ab court area, Hargeisa Office between 8:00am to 3:00pm (Sunday to Thursday).
Tender closing date is November 19th, 2023 at 1:30pm East Africa Time. All completed tender should be summited in sealed envelope to be bring Hargeisa office, the envelope should indicate the tittle of tender notice, but have no other details related to the bid.
