JOB ADVERTISEMENT FOR THE POSITION OF BRANCH MANAGER FOR SOMPOWER, HARGEISA SOMALILAND

ABOUT US.

SomPower was incorporated in 2016 by local investors after amalgamating over 35 standalone Electricity Service Providers who were scattered all over the city where each used to power a certain segment of the city. The overall objective of the amalgamation was to increase the efficiency of service delivery to customers and to direct resource allocation and deployment from one centralized point. The company is currently able to provide round-the-clock electricity to its customers without any hitches as the single point of failure has been completely eliminated by the introduction of a series of redundant systems able to back up the main feeder lines. The tremendous growth of SomPower has hugely contributed to the Socio-Economic development of the country and the betterment of many lives as 24/7 economic activities are no longer a mirage but a reality in the city and its environs. Being the largest Electricity Service Provider in the country means, the company is also one of the largest employers in the country. The company intends to recruit a result-oriented highly motivated person to fill the exciting and challenging position of Branch Manager who will be reporting to the COO of the company.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Ensure the Branch’s property, environment, and documents are maintained, kept safely in a clean manner, and used properly
• Develop the branch’s business plans and strategies that will attain an acceptable market share in the branch catchment area and achieve or exceed the company goals.
• Manage and direct Employees for the implementation of branch activities and execution of plans to achieve company objectives.
• Ensures that the branch functions are carried out according to SomPower’s operation standards and guidelines
• Supervise employee attendance and punctuality, and counsel them with unacceptable attendance records.
• Drive the business of the branch through the acquisition of new and retaining of existing clients to achieve continuous growth in the profitability of the branch.
• Develop market and sales/tactical plans and strategies and oversees the branch’s daily sales and collection target.
• Supervise technical employees in the execution of the branch’s technical works, including line extension, repairs, and maintenance to provide reliable power to the customers.
• Maintains the highest level of confidentiality with all information obtained and observes and manages the highest level of the company values.

• Bachelor’s degree in (Business Administration/Electrical Engineering) from a reputable University (MBA/MEE Preferred)
• Good knowledge and experience with management and reporting
• 6+ years of related experience
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Exceptional time management and ability to problem solve under pressure
• Results-driven personality eager to partner with upper management to organize, plan and achieve company objectives
